  2. 192800, round 15 of 15. Played one time previously, quit after 11 rounds. Probably helps being an engineer. Mechanical engineers make weapons; civil engineers make targets.
  3. I'm still hoping that my remodel will end...17 months and counting, at more than $3k/week. I'm doing my part to fight austerity.
  4. You mean sorta like when Romney changed his view from right to choose to anti abortion. Or do you mean when he changed from pro government mandated healthcare to anti? He gets elected, he will go back to where he was as Governor.
  5. "Doctors report that he was lucky and missed his brain by mere inches."
  6. By "just about everybody," what percentage do you mean?
  7. Well, if anyone is more hung up than the Pilgrim heritage Americans, it is the denizens of the Middle East. I guess .bare_ankle is out too.
  8. Foot rub huh...ya may wanna measure that again! He already measured it 3 times.
  9. 1. It was not a bullet proof vest. It was a tactical vest. Wrong, read the thread, read to the end of the link.
  10. Jesus never went to college. He wanted to, but he got crossed up on the boards.
  11. So what you're saying here is that it's fine if you have an obesity rate up to 30%? So long as your're #2 or #3 in the case of the UK, your health care system is working great because somewhere out there people are on average even fatter? Strawman alert - kelp can't find a single country with universal healthcare that has a higher obesity rate than the USA, so he changes the subject with a strawman. Tonga. Free government provided healthcare at point of use. 90% obesity rate.
  12. Maybe Boehner could cry some of those tears in Iowa to water some corn.
  13. If he were a true American, and one with the requisite experience, then yes.
  14. Where are you? I'd recommend either getting certified before you go, or doing a "referral" course, where you do most of it at home, including pool work, and the open water part there. That way, you can have more time out on the reefs when you get there. OTOH, I did some no-cert diving in the Bahamas 25 years ago, where it was 30 minutes in the pool then right out to the reef, and had a blast.
  15. I don't know of anyone that said he did anything illegal.
  16. >>Kind of like the same reason Obama won't release his College Grades? I haven't really seen much on this -- actually only here in SC. Did it come up as a topic after Romney released his college transcript?
  17. Is legalization going to bring down the price?
  18. The SP500 has averaged 7.8% annual return since I got out of school in 1977. In the last 12 years, the only ones I've had a 401k (nothing contributed by employers), the SP500 is actually down. What exact years are you talking about 10-12%? OTOH, since Obama took over, the SP500 has averaged 16.4%.
  19. It isn't (totally) about whether Romney technically broke any laws. Certainly on the edge, but I don't have any reason to think that he intentionally would break any. It is more about exposing how the very rich can take advantage of situations to pay a much lower percentage in taxes than someone who only makes a couple of hundred thousand per year (essentially all earned income) has to pay.
  20. Only 5%, unless Romney's tax returns progress as expected. Who knows, maybe there really is nothing nefarious in his tax returns, and he is just waiting to release them 2-3 weeks ahead of the election, with a big "See!"
  21. I guess hunting with Dick Cheney would be another practical use.
