  1. And a Google search I did showed a news story of an elderly dead man found in that store about two months ago, apparently having died of a heart attack during an "intense" viewing session. I'm sure that tends to get the notice of the police... He should have consulted his physician first... I wonder if he could tell if he was comin' or goin'? illegible usually
  2. And maybe we'll leave some cool fossils too... http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2005-10/uoo-pgw101205.php illegible usually
  3. The full nude places I've been to in TX were either a) Private clubs (a $5-$10 membership fee required) or b) "set-up" joints. For those not up on Texan lingo, a set-up is a dry bar where they only sell mixer but let you bring in your own personal bottle of booze or cooler full of beer. Quite the experiance I assure you. Nothin' like a 6-pack of rednecks a couple of cases of beer and a few bottles of tequila in a strip club illegible usually
  4. Veteran, jumper pulled from hospital for pot charge... http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/10/13/patient.arrest.ap/index.html Maybe there's more to the story (probably is) but it still ticks me off... Maybe these cops should go to Houston to bust somebody for buying a dildo instead. illegible usually
  5. Probably more truth to that than he realizes. Thanks for sharing. illegible usually
  6. Maybe they should be looking for these guys... http://www.crime-stoppers.org/rogues2.html illegible usually
  7. Now just how dumb is this? http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/news/archive/2005/10/12/national/a114626D92.DTL A serious lapse in judgement I'd say. Make me wonder if he was ever a jump pilot tho illegible usually
  8. Perhaps when the FBI starts arresting a few people in the RED states for buying a copy of Hustler, they will realize that voting for GWB was kinda a bad idea. Yep, no fake peni (isn't that the plural of penis?) allowed in Texas. Only real dicks allowed. Not sure exactly how laws like this come about but having lived in Texas for several LONG years, this isn't the weirdest TX law I've heard of. illegible usually
  9. Who knows. IMO most cops (like most people) are pretty good people that try their best to do what's right. There are bad people in every profession, police work included. That is the primary reason that we need the unfettered feedom of speech and a free press. These two tools allow bad people to be exposed and judged by the 95% of the public that can recognize bad things when they see them. The trouble comes in where we aren't allowed to see what's going on. illegible usually
  10. Lite beer is definately NOT beer. It may resemble beer from a distance but it should never be called beer. illegible usually
  11. They probably would have been OK if they hadn't gone on to assault the TV crew... Seems to me they are just a bit too stressed out... illegible usually
  12. Yeah, I kinda wondered about how conflicted a vegan with a leather festish must be... I actually stumbled on this on as a 'sponsored link' on some other web page. One that was perfectly inocent I assure you, but possibly not PETA approved. illegible usually
  13. Hey, I think he got it right! rushmc said: So on one side you have 'all the researchers' who say man is having an effect on global warming. On the other side we have 'another' that claims they have no evidence. Sounds like an accurate discription ofhte debate. Thousands of scientists with data and one loon with an opinion and a microphone. illegible usually
  14. There can't be much volume in this: http://www.veganerotica.com/ NSFW if you couldn't tell from the url illegible usually
  15. Do you ever get tired of being a parrot. Seems this is the only verse you know. illegible usually
  16. Um, Mike... Joe Smith seemed to have an awful lot of "issues" to have been getting direct guidance from god. Just MHO illegible usually
  17. From a transcript of an upcoming documentary from BBC. GWB is alledged to have said: Who will the world believe, Scott McLellan, or Nabil Shaath? illegible usually
  18. Noted and changed I'm a chemist, not a linguist, no matter how cunning I may be... illegible usually
  19. Did anyone listen to it? I heard most of it and overall I'd give it a B. He tried to stretch the war on terror a bit far, and did not do a good job of explaining why the F we are in Iraq to begin with but made a strong case for not pulling out. Your thoughts? illegible usually
  20. Thanks for the bomb info. TATP is also very unstable and while easy to make, many would be bombers have met their god a bit early when making it or attempting to use it. Seems he did go quite a bit out of his way to have a unique exit if it was indeed merely a suicide. illegible usually
  21. Those articles don't ask or answer the question of this individuals motives. I believe it is possible that this was a attempted terrorist attack. CNN says "We are apparently dealing with an individual suicide, which is under full investigation," FOX reports "no one inside the stadium was ever in danger" Followup stories are very minimal. Maybe he was just depressed and wanted a solo exit. Seems like a strange way to do it to me. There are a lot of suicides but this is the only one that I have heard of where a backpack bomb was used outside of a football stadium. illegible usually
  22. More information available if yoiu look indicates the explosive used contained hydrogen peroxide as an accelerant. H2O2 bombs are very easy to make, but VERY unstable. It's entirely possible that his detonation was a bit premature. He could also have chickened out. While there is little info, it is being treated as a suicide, he did kill himself with a bomb, and he was rumored to have recently joined a local Mosque. I only posted it because this event seems to raise many questions that do not appear to have been asked. First on my list is did he intend to enter the game? Even a small bomb inside a crowded football stadium could result in a pretty big panic I would think. I recall a thread earlier where there were many that thought US citizens could never blow themselves up in public places. This man apparently did just that. illegible usually
  23. Using current estimates of 22% infected, and 50% fatality rate, there would be expected to be 35,681,948 deaths in the US from the flu alone. That does not take into account the potential for added deaths from lack of access to medical care (overloaded hospitals) and social violence. If it hits, we'd better call out the National Guard. not for quarantine but for preserving public order. What happened in NO could happen in nearly any major US city if all the police are gone tending to other duties. "Bring out your dead...Bring out your dead..." illegible usually
  24. http://www.oudaily.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2005/10/04/43435177ec96e Why isn't Fox/CNN etc all over this? illegible usually
