I really don't understand it at all. Yes, I can do most of THE list time after time. I jump a F111 220ft cell or ZP 9 cell 200ft, loaded around 1 or so. I have fun, but don't believe I've taken both to the ragged edge yet. Yes, I play with risers, even try swooping type stuff, above 1k, then set up for landing. Why is it that people are in such a rush? Is it to be cool? I think (hope) more experienced/most people would agree that seeing a newbie smash in is not cool. Is it because I've had an injury relatively early on and realise this sport can kill you, even if you do everything right, (I didn't) and don't want to increase the odds. I don't know. One jumper at Perris said to me, 'my, thats an awfully big canopy' I replied 'yeah but my medical bills will be lower'. I ignored him after that. This guy was a D licensed jumper who should know better. i know I'm ranting but after speaking to a couple of the younger guys around the DZ who are in such a rush I'm getting a bit annoyed. Swooping etc is cool as fuck but until you csn continually setup for landings and be accurate its going to hurt/kill you. Please be careful newbies such as myself. I hate reading the incidents forum. Don't be presurised or think you can do what you cant. Learn to fly the shit out of what you've got and ask STAs or CCIs who've seen you fly what they think. Right, rant over, everyone have fun this weekend but be safe as you can. please. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Hey Shermans check this out http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2004/09/red_states_feed.html Not being a Sherman I don't care but I like to see you guys argue.... "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Sky one has just started repeating ST TNG in the UK, watching the 'drunk' episode where Data and Tasha get it on (also where Bevelry and Jean-Luc allude to it), go to be my favourite episode ever. So question is; what is you favourite ST episode, does not matter whether original, TNG, DSN, Voyager or Enterprise. Or though I'm guessing not too many votes for Enterprise. Trouble with Tribbels is not allowed. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Yup. It's always up to the rigger, and you can always say no. Mark My rig was a Xerox stroke Vector copy called an Aircare, made bt a BPA rigger so he could pass his riggers test. At Perris 1 rigger said they wont do a repack, fair enough: met another rigger. Explained to him that (at the time politics has made us change to BPA since) we were from a USPA DZ in the UK, the rig was acceptable to be jumped under BPA rules, under such circumstances he was happy to repack and put his seal on. He also fitted slider bumpers and only charged for the parts. If I ever need a repack and I'm at Perris I know who I'd go to. The whole TSO thing will not be an issue as i'm looking at a Wings now, fancy doing a bit of freeflying now. Edit for somehow changing my keyboard to french whilst typing. The whole reason i started jumping is cause of Area 51....I heard it's like the best DZ ever. See this, apparently Paul thinks it pretty cool http://futurecam.com/area51.html "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

I believe, and was told by people that work there (not directly employed by the DZ, but through a gear shop which does the gear checks ) that there is a little DZ near Riverside, CA which has a TSO waiver. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Even if the DZ has a TSO waiver? How do new containers get tested then? "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Yup. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Can a US qualified Rigger repack a reserve for non TSO'd container (which is very very very similar to a Vector) for a foreign visiting jumper at a USPA DZ which has a TSO waiver? Even if the visiting jumper is a USPA memberr? And yes, this actually came up. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Bit Torrent is cool as f, you can download lots of copyleft music, freeware, literature and music I find the Azureas client good. The bitoogle search at http://yotoshi.com/ is quite helpful. Hope this helps. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Some times. My little sis and her bloke have been round Europe on Vespas for the last month or so. They've been saving for years. They were planning being away for another a year but she has to come back due to 'womens' problems. I am getting so sick of this shit, 1st here SO had a problem and lost a bollock, then my elder sis had to have work, now my little sis has to come back for work. I wish I could take their pain and illness, I'm a bastard and deserve it, not my beautiful sisters. Rant over. I won't ask for vibes but just give my little sis a thought during your day, please. If you were gay, which dz.commer would you like to do?
jjiimmyyt replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
Necrophilia anyone? Only if they are still warm, (or you've got a really big microwave) "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave -
I think when most people walk round with massive grins on their face that kind of helps. I think happy people are more attractive (unless you're a goth). "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

It can, and now, does work. Using the MS Mail patch from outlook-tips.com and various other fricken around puts the dlls required. Its just a real pain in the arse. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

I've only ever been to a strip club once (no, really) and that was at 'Secrets' in Yborr City. I guess I didn't here any music cos I had a pair of thighs locked round my head. Not an experience I'd ever repeat. It was like going into a sweet shop but not being able to take anything home. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

They play music at strip clubs? Shiat, I never noticed "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

No, client is cheapass or I wouldn't have to frick around like this, I've suggested he gets a cheap box with SBS or Linux, won't spring for it. Even offered him one of my treasured Cobalt Qubes at a knockdown price. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
