  9. yes, there is the danger posibility. we also have a border collie, and when all three get excited, they can fight with each other. diving between them to break it up, i have gotten cut pretty bad. yeah, we know that boxers and breeds alike have i guess what you call "lockjaw" where you litterally can not get them to release, without kocking them sensless. we love out dogs, and we love how people like to play with them...but only under the correct situations. it is very rewarding to have the dogs give love to people, but the flip side has to be prevented. boy, two rotties...that could be a serious problem if they get agressive. forgot to mention that when i was younger i was a paperboy, and used to get chased all the time by the dogs. used a freon powered air horn (used on boats) to scare the dogs off, and peddled like hell at the same time. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  10. well, we have two boxers, and they are the most loving dogs, even roll around with the neighborhood kids. however, to be cautious is always called for. we have a double fence system, so that the some body can not put thier had through the fence to reach the dog, ie. a child wanting to pet the dogs, and to provide a better barrier to the outside for the dogs. unfortunately there are stupid people everywhere, and pits have become a "status" symbol for some, i guess because they dont have any self worth of thier own. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  11. you can help your dreams out by taking oryster shell calcium. its good for strong bones, for hard landings, and for some reason it really makes you dream more! i have gone on and off of it, and my dreams come and go in realation. wierd. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  12. was not replying directly to you...just stating how i, and my wife were trained. and yes, we do practice EPs in the car, on the ground, in the plane, everywhere. i am lucky to have a great skydive/scuba partner... i actually practice more than her...seems that she has the move down. jumping with a cypress to me is like when i ride with a helmet, i ride, and jump, like they are not there. there role is to increase your chances, not become part of the ride / dive. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  13. i was always taught that going to your reserve is a TWO step process, not one. i am surprize that she did not do the full two steps, but at 100 jumps your settling in, getting complacent, and all that jazz. my wife had a hard pull/reserve on jump 8, then on 65. both times she pull both handles, even though the main was still in the container...because she knows, it is a TWO step process. funny thing on the second reserve ride, when i landed next to her the first thing she said was "god dammit, now i am done for the day!" and, you will always, always, she us doing that one two pull process in the plane, committing the reserve pull sequence to memory. i usually do it with eys closed, three times before exit...commit it to mussle memory. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  14. they could use that grass area for skydiving landings...hmmm ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

  19. hooknswoop, you probably have a very low fat content in your body, and are very dense,...um that is in body mass/volume. my dive buddie is the same, she really can only float by relaxing on her back, that is with no wet suit. you will just have to use your BC. NBL ? ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  20. yeah, in freshwater you are less boyant. you still can just fill your BC with air to float. and if your ever stranded, dump your tank and weights, then fill your BC with the oral inflator. when you dive, before you descend, you should check if you are nuetral in your boayancey. if you sink when you deflat your BC, you are weighted too heavy. you should only sink when you give a big exhale breath. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  21. very important to take care of that liver! its your buddy after a rough night at the DZ. milkthistle helps! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  22. dont ya just love it that people are "afraid" of these sports. i mean hell, working 50 hours a week in a cube, all to retire to a moble home, that...is something to be afraid of. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  23. if anyone needs dive buddies for Laguna Beach shore dives...PM me. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  24. hey, speaking of scuba, anyone dive laguna? we do. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
  25. There is one major big difference. When you run out of altitude, there is not much your co-jumpers can do....your on your own(have seen one instance of a save of a jumper already under canopy). In scuba, a heads up dive buddy can EASILY save a diver, from such cases as out of air, getting nitrogen narcosis, gear failure, or intanglement. I have personally seen a guy run out of air at 40 ft, while diving in Belize. The dive master/his buddy "shared air" and surfaced. Also, if you are affraid of drowning, you are actually very boyant when scuba diving, that is why you wear weights. If you dump your weights, you actually can not sink, unless diving with no wetsuit. But you still have you boyancey compensator. My dive buddy/wife/life partner cant swim, yet we dive to 100 ft often. She even does shore entries, get slammed by the waves, but all is well because she HAS an air supply. There is nothing to fear to fear itself. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
