Best way to retain your logs through this upgrade is to license http://www.paralog.net and download your logs into it before you upgrade to Neptune II. It's effortless and as a bonus you can backup up your Paralog files on the PC - that's something you can't do with your Neptune alone. If you're the kind of skydiver that never has time to log and you're relying on your Neptune to do it for you, then you should really back that up with Paralog. My first Neptune went 'sailing away in freefall' and because of Paralog I only lost that days jump records. You are a nice source of marketing info. I have failed to save my logs, because IR connection could not be held long enough.... So I managed to loose my logs.

swoop by beep, Neptune vs. Optima
phoenixlpr replied to phoenixlpr's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I have noticed that altitude indicated on Neptune(2 v3.0) and Optima has about 10-20m difference. Optima indicates higher altitude. It might have 2 outcome if I use Optima as swoop guide: getting 10-20 high or getting underground . Is it reasonable to decrease swoop warning altitudes on Optima by the offset? Any ideas? -
What size of canopy? What size of flag? How much the flag degrage flying performance?

180 degree front riser requirement for "A"

Do birds know physics, aerodynamics, solving differential equations? Do they fly all weather and all year around? I would not bother too much about those numbers just feel, watch and fly. -
What do you want from your canopy? I don't think that you can expect much more performance from an ellipctical on that WL, but you might get more miserable openings. I'd rather choose a canopy opens like "fire and forget", just pitch and you have a good, flying canopy. you may learn a lot. Even a bit shorter recovery arc may save your ass same day. Demo and find a canopy which feel as an extent of body.

Ok. Send your address, number etc. You can expect a VectorII and a Cricket reserve in 4 years or earlier. If I can not jump it you are welcome to do that.

Ok. Go ahead! Get all parts of your gear replaced after 20 years. Than you got a brand new gear, don't you?

You might pull some breaks too and/or your canopy is out of trim. -
Try not to forget that you are talking about life saving devices. The line should be drawn somewhere. Notice that you are using consumer stuff, I guess you would not pay the price of the longer lasting stuff...

I use a Cazer 24" ZP kill line with my Cobalt 135. You can get it from square1.com . I've read somewhere that even 22" ZP PC would be enough for a sub 120sqft canopy. -
180 degree front riser requirement for "A"

How about this: you increase you speed with your turn, than increased speed makes more life on your wing and that is the force what wants to rip the risers out of your hand. -
If you place the slider more over the nose, it opens slower, if you place it even, it might open faster.
-
How about learn how to pack for slow or faster openings? I would not mess with BASE equipment if I were you.

AKAIK R.A.G.E. is not a student canopy... I've heard that you even have to use fronts to inflate your canopy. So they should be universal... -
