  1. Bingo. An active runway usually has a no fly zone for canopies under 300m. You might find a column of air rising over the dark runway headed by the sun, so may expect some turbulence there.
  2. I'm still not sure if its a good idea. Have you read Wings Midflap Service Bulletin #08325
  3. Its not the Pilot. Its the size 188 and your wing load.
  4. For BASE jumping or for reserves? Should reserve be packed as mfg require? Than may be not.
  5. Eh, Worst possible choice? Its a really weak argument for flying in deployment breaks because canopies open/reinflate better in that configuration.
  6. Thanks for the article! I still don't agree with it. I think Brian Germain covers this really well in Collapses and Turbulence
  7. Any explanation? IMHO this does not make any sense. We are not a part of a fixed winged aircraft, it won't break in pieces or get overloaded. We have to keep on flying and for stability we have to keep lines under tension, only way to to is break if lines getting loose. Why to sacrifice speed for nothing?
  8. If its not coming with the canopies, someone should provide that too Do not make them confused. Simple: One size fits all. H/C limits the size of canopies can be used with it.
  9. Simple. Get 200-300 jumps, than get back to this topic.
  10. Be a man, not a p0ss.... Its a leap of faith.
  11. I must say I'd rather have one more reserve ride than thinking about long after crashing with a ball of sh1t that I could have got rid of... Why a good canopy has one or more broken break lines? I had some rear riser landings on a Pilot 150, WL 1.5+. One of them was a face plant, nothing broken just my ego. "You have to run..... have to run fast..." - words of an experienced guy when I asked him about rear riser landings.
  12. Do not worry to much. Upon Atair 24" kill-line ZP PC would be recommended for 150 and smaller. H/C is usually shipped with 27-28" kill-line PC. I had about 350 jumps on a Pilot 150 with a 32" kill-line F111 PC without any problem. Anyway, trust your rigger! He/she might give you a call if there something coming up...
  13. You can place the slider more over the nose or more tailwards. What do you think how long your roll will hold in those winds of opening?
  14. Eh. Roll the nose magic/myth again? You know there is a device for controlling the speed of opening called slider....
  15. You just don't want to understand. What would you call light WL? I agree. If you have short recovery you do not have to luxury just hang on the keep it in dive. It does not mean those can not be swooped or can not be swooped safely. If you find yourself in the corner you can get you wing faster back over your head if it wants to recover by itself anyway. Its only different. You might have learnt setting up a 90 degrees from a holding crab. For doing a 180 you most likely have to set up from a running crab. Sounds like an oximorron...
  16. Ok. Now define light. ??? You might turn lower because of fast recovery of your canopy. Anyway you are lower under a slower wing. what is the connection?
  17. Lucky you! I'm not sure if I can find a rigger who would sign my rig off this country....
  18. I had the privilege to start from An-2 with a RS4/A round gear. I have jumped out and not just pushed out. That's an experience, but I don't want to jump those ever. I prefer soft and predictable landings.
  19. There is no price there either. Your move.
  20. Have you tried? Those pages has been removed from Sunpath.com. I could not find any price. Have you? Show me!
