  1. Donno. I don't freefly, I have no trouble with a monkey fist, leather hackey or pvc tube. Why to fix that ain't broken?
  2. Sure. When I asked my mentor he told that its a big no-no in cold climate.
  3. Opening are about slider placement. Sure.... I have tried with a brand new canopy. I was dead both ways. If you can not fold than most likely you can not roll either. No sh1t. Packing is a religion and you are an extremist minority.
  4. Is there a big issue find enough clear airspace?
  5. Can you see those trees in the middle? I was flying around them a 90 degrees turn, than had a nice and soft landing. It was my best, I did not wanted to land on trees.
  6. Have you noticed that your harness and reserve have been certified only up to 254 lbs? You can find easily a better canopy than your Sabre.
  7. More trouble. Nice ways to kill yourself creatively.
  8. What does this has to do with wing suit flying, preacher?
  9. I would not call you conservative. You are a light jumper with landing issues. You should break out from student class. Someone filming and analyzing your landings would be the right help for you. Jumping a canopy under .9 has its own issues.
  10. ....but Peggs, she HAS done a BASE jump, so why not let her be a child prodigy and be the first 15 year old AFF Wingsuiter? That'd be a lot of !! Oh wait... Whats the rush? She can fly a track suit after e.g. 50 jumps.
  11. So how often do you need to yell to someone under canopy ? Does it matter? How many canopy collisions can you survive? An airfield is a risky environment. Once I've almost stepped into the way of a glider. I don't want to share airspace with a music zombie.
  12. Keep it simple. Keep your lines under tension and do not turn faster than you canopy can follow.
  13. I've though that we are still talking about risers....
  14. Do 3 inches make a big difference for you?
  15. I think it might have more effect on the recovery of the canopy. Please explain it in details. How is a different riser would change the stall point if the guide ring is about the same distance from the connector links?
  16. Just try to explain me why is a big deal to give up listening music for e.g. 20 minutes/jump? You can listen to music for the rest of your life.
  17. You would get something between 19"-22" without any specific request for an extra long one. Take a hard guess, you might have to measure the webbing. It would be more important to get risers with hard housing.
  18. I don't think that would matter for you. If you can reach the slider without any problem thats ok.
  19. Why only 5 to 10 feet? Weight of the rig still on your back? The way it was explained to me, if I remember correctly, is that your main is creating drag prior to being cut away. And so when you cut away, you lose that drag and your upper body is no longer being pulled back. And when your upper body no longer has that backwards pull, you could easily lerch forward from the waist up and do a face plant in the water -- which could cause significant injuries such as a torn aorta, if the cutaway occurred at a significant height... It's a bit more simple. You may misjudge the altitude over the water, and cut away way to high. I have 1 intentional and 2 other water landing without cut-away.
  20. Short: NO Than do your search for listening music threads.
  21. I think they ONLY fit with the narrow (i.e. Type 17) risers. True? I have not seen any limitation. I don't use them, because I prefer to pull the slider down.
