  1. I was in a situation where half the load were either test-dummy or safe-ass. Test-dummies wanted to go, safe-asses wanted the see test-dummies landed first before going. So none was going anywhere.... I have seen "experienced" jumpers sitting in not too bad winds and I sat after having a landing in funny winds.
  2. Landing on snow is not about balance. If you step down with some speed you might stuck and fall on your chest/face or might slide on your ass as you have written.
  3. ??? I don't have any landing problem. Those were good soft and stand up landings. Ok. I have to admit, that landing on the snow is not easy. It never breaks if you think and it won't support your weight if you hope for that. I landed 2 out of 4 on my face. It hurts only my ego.
  4. Thats lame. You should know that packing is a religion.
  5. I suspected "built in turn" on my gear, but it was flying strait again after I check my leg straps for feeling even and not measuring if they could be the same amount of excess...
  6. So easy to say. I can still remember my fight, it is still clear as it would be yesterday.
  7. Garmin Geko 301 in a helmet pouch. So reception might not be a problem.
  8. Well, I seem to have uneven flare: to the right to the left I wouldnt've noticed without these pictures.
  9. I've heard similar advice: take it to a beach jump. I'd still rather you a clean carpet under the canopy. That little friction prevents the canopy sliding on the floor.
  10. It can be good, but it sucks if the floor is against you when you pack a slimy new bitch. I used a regular carpet from cotton for 20-30 pack jobs.
  11. Nice. You receive at least the half of the message. Yes, I did put a piece of carpet under it, but using a humidifier helped a lot. Packing any stone dry canopy suck big time.
  12. Still, it was hard to fold and it was even harder to roll. I started packing on plastic floor at home, I got a silicone wet stain there.
  13. Have you tried to pack a brand new canopy? Even psycho-packing? I did. I could not even roll that beast.
  14. You asked an opinion about the most polular pieces of gear. Go ahead. Demo canopies and try on some H/C! Anyway what discipline are you involved or going to be involved? All modern H/C is freefly friendly.
  15. Why do you make it so complicated? Any combination of your selection would do it just fine.
  16. Nice. The wierdest thing I have heard that some CRW dogs have chopped 50cm from their line set. They claimed that flies better that way. Or they might have gained 1,50m on their competitors in a 4 way rotation.
  17. So does it mean that yours is bigger? Or at least more blue? Its just about opinions and not jump numbers. I think that he has lot more jumps on that canopy he was talking about than you do.
  18. Don't even dream about it! Replacement part never as good as the original.
  19. Yeah, thats it. A local mentor could help you much.
  20. Me too. Trust in God and keep your gunpowder dry.
  21. I think you may find a mentor closer and even more experience that I have. Keep on looking. BTW you may read the bible of swooping if you have time.
