Dumbest thing I ever did was thinking "I'll just make one jump so I can say that I've done it" I was sure as hell better off financially before I made THAT decision
-
One thing thats not changed since my first jump in 1989 is that "experienced" skydivers cross their legs while under canopy. This looks far cooler than having them all splayed out. Only newbies/students fly around like that! Its just not cool. Thats the theory anyway. In practice, no matter how many times I try to cross my ankles, its just plain uncomfortable. Even with my VERY comfy new Vector 3. I dont see that changing. I've decided to resign myself to looking like a newbie. Its just more comfy. Why do something that takes away from an experience that I pay a lot and risk a lot to enjoy?

I love this rig. The ONLY downside was that it took a couple weeks longer to deilver than originally estimated but that is not a negative comment on the product itself so I'm not going to deduct any points for it. This rig fits better than any I have worn and even with large canopies and somewhat heavier was very comfortable. Video shows the covers stay totally closed in freefall. Nothing opened until I wanted it to. I think it looks great too. I'd buy another in a second.

My rig is 2 weeks out of RWS and my car is 10 months old. No rust or dents on either of them yet :-)

Treking in Peru is something you get out of your system. Skydiving is not

Nah, no injury. Just money, family, life, things, money, booze, stuff, kids, and money. Its all sorted out now

Before today it had been 8 years since my last jump. Tonight its only been a few hours since my last jump! Took my new gear up and got my knees back in the breeze! Did a 2 way refresher with my former instructor. It was VERY nice! All went very well and I'm cleared for regular jumpin! I'm told that there was no rust flying off of me By the time I was repacked it clouded up and began to rain which it did for the rest of the day. Bah! Oh well at least I got that one in, and theres many a jump ahead of me now! No more waiting! Cheers!

This canopy did not dive or turn or open hard. I had comfortable openings and on heading. The reviews that refer to these things as being characteristics of this canopy cant be correct because they didnt happen to me at all. This would tend to exonerate the canopy and place the blame for those things on body position. Nice opening, great responsiveness, soft landings. I'm keeping it :-)

I'm very relieved that I'm not the only non-windows desktop. This is FreeBSD 5.1-CURRENT with Gnome2 and a couple Eterm terminal windows (enlightened terminals) Picture is too big to upload, check it out at this link... UNIX Rocks

I dont but I went over to drop off a child support check at my ex and my 9 year old son was taking a shower and singing his little head off in there. I sat in the hall for 10 minutes listening to him.

I will never make that stupid gesture with my hand. You know the one I'm talking about. The one that radical, extreme, cool guys do. Its not cool. Not even a teeny little bit. Unless you are 12, then its REAL cool. The sport would be better off as a whole if nobody ever did it again. I guess I'm just too old to be cool

I sent my mother this picture of myself in my new gear. Her reply? "You look like some kind of half-assed action hero" My chest swelled with pride
-
Why? You gonna tell on them if they dont?

I dont know about the whole "nourishment" thing. Sounds a bit too corny to me. Obsessed? Yes (lust) Hunger? Yes (lust) I see no "plight" here, so no she cant see through it. She can ache for him too (lust) I do not believe in love at first sight. Real emotional bonds take time and intimacy to develop (IMHO) Lust is hormonal/chemical in nature and is usually more or less instantaneous. This lust can often be confused with emotions and called "love" but I do not believe that it is.

Its a bit caustic. Some people like it, some people arent amused by it at all. Good thing I was only attempting to amuse myself. That being the case, I rarely get disappointed BTW, I COULD mail you some cole slaw if you REALLY want me to. You might be more satisfied with some local slaw though. Imported slaw can go bad.

I'll bet you say that to all the guys

These arent the best pics but you get the idea
