I believe that wearing clothing like that should be a capitol offense. These men should all be taken out back and shot.

Lets not forget about the Vector 3. It has a feature that none of the competition have and its worth considering. That would be the Skyhook The Javelin IS a bit nicer looking (in my opinion) but not much. Both are great looking rigs. I bought from RWS because of this feature thats only available on the Vector 3. The Vector 3 is also a bit less expensive than the Odyssey. As to dealers I can only speak about the one I used. That was The Skydiving Outlet - Deland The prices are GREAT and the service is unbeatable. I cant recommend them enough. On a scale of 1 to 10 they get an 11

Well, for me its more about the "type" of person they are rather than their age. My own son is 11 and I'd feel more comfortable letting him do a solo jump than my 15 year old step-son. (not that I'm letting either of them do one) I wouldnt say that either one of them is brighter than the other, but my "natural" son, when presented with the need to make a fast high pressure decision, is far more likely to react quickly and correctly than my older step-son. The sudden or unexpected situation throws my step-son for a loop. In my opinion this is not a good quality for a skydiver regardless of age.

IT just become apparent to me through reading various things that a person can make AFF jumps at age 16 with parental consent but they CANT make a tandem. Is this actually the case or am I misunderstanding? If true, can someone explain the logic behind this? I ask because my step-son is 15 and wants to try jumping next year. I would allow him to make a tandem but I wouldnt allow him to jump solo. Lots of reasons for this but the bottom line is that I dont think he would be ready to deal with saving his own life. He may never be. When confronted with the need to make a fast, accurate decision, he goes "tharn" (anyone remember "Watership Down"?) Simply put, he freezes like a deer in the headlights. Given this, I would never consent to any solo jumps. I would have no problem hookin him up to a trusted TM though, but looks like this isnt allowed? Thoughts? Chris

Its probably a bit soon to be sweating equipment choices. Keep saving your money, get parental consent, and start jumping. The rest will come in time OK. I'm probably going to regret asking this...but...what does "so ya" mean?

I'm damn glad I am getting one in my new rig which is now only a few weeks away

Most likely part of your deltoid...

When you say the reserve was open in 100 ft does that mean it was fully inflated or to line stretch?

Actually we are discussing what we find UNattractive in a man. An ATTRACTIVE feature might be something like "Buys his friends free jumps" or "gives you money for no reason" etc etc.

If retired counts, Larry Bird is pretty damn ugly

In my opinion, there is no sexy car. There ARE a lot of absurdly overpriced ones though.

I would think that after 18 jumps you would be on one of those EXTreme-VX 55 sq. ft. puppies.
-
I'd say (my newbie opinion) that main is too small for your first if you weigh 205 lbs. and have 6 jumps. That would put your exit weight somewhere around 235 and give you a wing loading of nearly 1.4 Think about a Sabre2 (9 cell) or Spectre (7 cell) at around 230 sq ft.

This is true!

I've had that one with my ex-wife already. We have 2 sons. But she couldnt make me stop when we were still married, she cant now either. Does she think I'm being irrisponsible? Yep. Can I change her thinking? Nope. The other side of the coin is that I'm always there for my kids. I pay my support regularly and she never had to fight to get it. I pay more than a court would require and I do so not because anyone else tells me I should. I do it because its my moral responsibility to support my children. I go to all school functions, I talk to them on the phone several time a week and I see them every weekend even when I dont have them with me I go for a quality time visit to their house. My boys KNOW that they are important to me and that I love them. They never have to wonder. As long as you are a good, responsible father to your son, spend lots of quality time, you dont shortchange your ex-wife on support so you can make more jumps, and dont blow your son off in favor of going to the DZ, then keep on jumping. As long as you have your priorities in order, there is no shame in making yourself happy too.

My grandparents (mother side) are from the Azores. I've never been there myself but someday I will. I'm half Portuguese. All Irish on Dads side, thats why I'm a drunk I've heard that its beautiful. Some whacko's think that the Azores are what is left of Atlantis

Are you still grounded, dude? Whats the prognosis?

I've heard a sendmail.cf file compared to an explosion in a punctuation factory

how about a "hit of blotter"? That would be sub-50 sq ft.

I can post pics of me swooping around in my basement while making swooshing noises. I can post pics of me NOT swooping my Sabre2 210. Just the IDEA of a WL over 4 gives me the willies! If you can land that postage stamp and walk away, more power to ya man!

GAH! I'm turning purple over here! Well, you...I mean you can always...er.... But no, I cant kick a man when he is down. Especially a fellow skydiver.

Considering the number of people who have or havent been faithfull, one would deduce that YOU werent exactly an angel either... Not necessarily. It could just mean that she is just an extrordinarily bad judge of character
