When I first started skydiving, I was a “could not arch” conservative

How many of us ever will?

The economy WAS recovering, until Biden killed thousands of jobs in his first few weeks. Last jobs report showed a hundred thousand more jobs lost then economists predicted.
-
I don’t know what that means.
-
I still have my stable of rentals to manage, no small task. I had to drive six hours (three there and three back) to change an air filter for a PhD who was so smart, he couldn’t figure it out on his own.

I guess my “white privilege” would be I am not compelled to spray gorilla glue in my hair. https://globalnews.ca/video/7634929/woman-reveals-she-used-gorilla-glue-as-replacement-after-hair-spray-ran-out

I said wind accounts for about a quarter electric energy and the rest from traditional sources. EXACTLY TRUE! The lack of electricity production from natural gas was partially because home heating took precedence over power production.

The WSJ, has an article saying 55% of Americans have effectively been inoculated by exposure to COVID. Add that to the folks getting vaccinated and they predict we will be largely back to normal by April. https://www.wsj.com/articles/well-have-herd-immunity-by-april-11613669731 “the consistent and rapid decline in daily cases since Jan. 8 can be explained only by natural immunity. Behavior didn’t suddenly improve over the holidays; Americans traveled more over Christmas than they had since March. Vaccines also don’t explain the steep decline in January. Vaccination rates were low and they take weeks to kick in.”

Special Forces....... support..........West Virginia........ Let me guess. You were a cook at Camp Dawson.

Wind supplies about a quarter of electricity in TX in the winter. They lost about 50% of that. Thermal generated power accounts for the rest and only fell by 25%. IOW renewables were half as reliable as traditional sources. I’m sorry about your aunt and washing machine. But let it a cautionary lesson on the over reliance on renewables.

Gas fired heater? Not exactly 100% wind solar and battery. Try again this time leave fossil fuels out.
-
Currently the wind speed in central Texas is six mph. The non-frozen wind turbines are still useless. According to your link “the most powerful winds in the world” are only contributing 40% of the stations energy needs, the rest are from fossil fuel.
-
I really want to know what BillV’s thoughts are on this. If this can happen in Texas it can happen in many other states that are much less conducive to wind and solar than Texas is.
-
I’m being serious. If I put my kids outside for the night in the winter it would look like this, and we would be sharing a sleeping bag
-
If Texas was 100% wind and solar with battery backup (not pretend backup) how many people would have frozen to death by now? Keep in mind we are in the second week of frozen wind turbines and ice/snow covered solar panels and below freezing temperatures. No diesel generators, no fossil fuel based de-icers.

“Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone said Thursday that “Florida is on fire” thanks to Gov. DeSantis’ ability to bring in new people and industries fleeing high-tax, COVID restrictive states like New York and California. “What this Governor in Florida has done is first class,” Langone said during an appearance on “Mornings With Maria.” “He knows how to run a state and he’s doing it well, he does it with humility and he does it with thoughtfulness.” Langone said that while speaking with DeSantis, the Florida Governor joked that he was thinking about sending a campaign contribution to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s campaign for helping to bring new business into Florida.”

I wouldn’t say Biden is lying, I just don’t think he understands what he is saying.

My B.S. alarm went off over this one.

Who lost the House majority with an unemployment rate so low it redefined the definition of full employment, rising wages, low interest rates and cheep gas? Almost nobody voted for Biden however tens of millions voted against Trump. This last election was the triumph of hate (for Trump) vs the love of him, and hate triumphed.
-
You don’t don’t lose the House of Representatives with the best economic numbers ever recorded without being stupid, you don’t loose the White House with the best economic numbers ever recorded without being stupid, you don’t loose two Senate seats in Georgia without being stupid. If Trump had stayed in the White House residence eating Big Macs, watching Fox News and signing whatever a Republican House and Senate sent him, Republicans would still have the majority and Biden would not be in the White House. Trump is. stupid squared.
-
Trump is a bridge too far for me. I understand the “human hand grenade” aspect Michael Moore talked about but you can’t beat stupid with stupid squared.
-
That sounds like the epitome of love and tolerance.

That is why they hate mirrors, the lack of reflection, reveals their emptiness

He just held up a mirror, it’s not his fault if some hated the reflection. (As evidenced by the vitriol we are seeing in this forum)
