  1. Give me a specific example. BillV gave several, housing, employment, educational, vocational and even epicureal. They were all wrong of course but at least he tried.
  2. We are talking about “white privilege this week” not in the 19th or 20th century.
  3. As with so many things, progressives/liberals believe in the narrative rather than the facts. Systemic racism, male female pay inequalities and catastrophic anthropogenic global warming to name a few. Here is a great example “The available data on police shootings of unarmed Black men is incomplete; however, existing data indicate that somewhere between 13-27 unarmed black men were killed by police in 2019. Adjusted for the number of law enforcement agencies that have yet to provide data, this number may be higher, perhaps between 60-100. • Yet, over half (53.5%) of those reporting “very liberal” political views estimated that 1,000 or more unarmed Black men were killed, a likely error of at least an order of magnitude” https://www.skeptic.com/research-center/reports/Research-Report-CUPES-007.pdf
  4. Source please, and not something from last century. BTW, those same inequities were suffered by white folks as well. The Irish, Italians and Jews to name a few.
  5. Where do Asians fall in this hierarchy of oppression? They have been the victims of some the most oppressive racism in our history. They are even largely excluded in popular culture. There are networks that cater to LatinX and African Americans yet none for our oppressed Asian brothers and sisters. What is up with that?
  6. Ok I am in full agreement. Socioeconomic and cultural differences play a tremendous role in the success or lack there of, of any group or individual. It just has little to do with race.
  7. Why did you bring in race? Wendy mentioned the “problem” of class privilege. I just brought up the additional privileges of education, employment, parental, marital and legal status. No mention of race. If “privilege” is a problem, presumably these other privileges are troublesome as well.
  8. It’s warming, just not enough to worry. “The globally averaged temperature departure from average over land and ocean surfaces for January 2021 was the seventh highest for the month of January in the 142-year NOAA record There is only 2.9% chance of 2021 ending as the warmest year on record.“ https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/news/global-climate-202101
  9. What about the problem of educational privilege, two parent privilege, not having children out of wedlock privilege, no criminal record privilege and having a job privilege? How do we address those “problems”?
  10. Let’s just let that marinate for a bit.
  11. Why do you guys get so pissed off when you are wrong about the “existential threat” of climate change? Shouldn’t you be happy that the world is not going to end in twelve..uh I mean nine years. Shouldn’t you be happy that we are not going to run out of cheap, reliable abundant fossil fuels for the foreseeable future? Why can’t you celebrate the role fossil fuels have played in making the world safer and more prosperous?
  12. So when she uses NASA data, it is no longer valid? Kallend fell into this trap.
  13. https://phzoe.com/2021/02/16/fortunate-global-greening/ https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/gcb.14950 more vegetation, more food, less desert. Yet another climate fail.
  14. That is not a troll, it is a reality check.
  15. It’s worth noting, Illinois, which depends very little on wind and solar had no production related blackouts.
  16. Rolling blackouts with thousands losing power is a success story? If anything, this episode illustrates just how dependent renewables are to fossil fuels for backup. You continue to fail to address the question I posed earlier...Just how bad would the situation be if the Midwest depended 100% on renewables?
  17. https://www.npr.org/2021/02/22/970134628/supreme-court-paves-way-for-ny-grand-jury-to-get-trump-financial-records?utm_campaign=npr&utm_term=nprnews&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&fbclid=IwAR1QO1qJjvqxBavGVGAoqWcBYT93hFh7E7B7tsDJbrpuP6UYBGtkDl2LtVQ See, you lefties got all worked up over nothing
  18. Florida COVID cases continue to plummet, Super Bowl gatherings at parties and bars did not increase COVID cases. Feb 2: 10,533 cases Feb 21: 5065 cases
  19. Yes it is trans·mis·og·y·ny /ˌtran(t)sməˈsäjənē,ˌtranzməˈsäjənē/ noun dislike of or prejudice against transgender women.
  20. 38% is bad but 12% is a whole lot worse. I agree there where failures across the board, renewables just failed more miserably than NG and coal.
  21. If Texas modeled its grid off of Canada’s it would fry in the summer “facilities are often built without walls in southern climates to maximize efficiency and prevent units from overheating in the hotter summer months, but leaving plants more vulnerable to cold weather.”
