Being scared about throwing yourself out of a plane???.......What kinda wuss are you? Hehe...joking....I think being scared is normal and somewhat required for us low number jumpers. Some good advise has been given already, relaxation drills and emergency proceedures reviews...etc. With already having 2 mals....You should be fairly confident in your ability to handle a emergency(save your own life). After my self induced mal....I was very scared and aprehensive(spel) about going back to freefall...so i did a hop and pop from 5k.....felt great...and I also leaned a contributing factor in my mal by having a instructor watch me deploy...... Plan your next jump to meet your comfort level...and go from there

Can u describe a float exit plz PhreeZone. Lintern...a exit that puts you closer to a good arch will prob help.....afterall....on a 3 second delay there isnt really time to correct for a poor body position.
-
I concur...speak with your instructors!....but......on a S/L,IAD practice pull you are being pulled by your canopy starting to open as you go for your handle/paper...the real pull is generally easier as you are not being "yanked back"........only down by our dear friend GRAVITY

IAD's (instructor aided deployment)...are similiar to to S/L...instead of a S/L being attached to your rig....the instructor places your pilot chute into the relative wind(a c-182 on a jump run is usually doing 80mph).....more than enough to pull the pin and the deployment bag/lines out....... Same idea on a hop and pop/clear and pull/3 second delay/1st freefall.......even though you dont have enough time to get belly down, you are still traveling quite fast horizontally(spel)...more then enough for your P/C (pilot chute) to do its job

Congrats on the solo clearance...hop and pops can be fun...and dont require a high ceiling

I'm always looking to learn...plz enlighten me. BTW...I was only making a "funny" at getting a free jump

If I attempt to flame you can i get a free cab ride to the sky also? I'm much more needy of jumps and I can play out a shit hot newbie role, being scared and all edited to add: 5 jumps for $90...damn sign me up!! does that include a ticket to Kansas?

1st....I've 467 jumps to go before i can do a birdman jump 2nd....I would certainly hope there is training involved...stable deployement is key in jumping birdman.....cant reach the togles or risers untill loose from suit. 3rd....LouDiamond seems to be the resident birdman expert....A BMCI(birdman chief instructor)....hopefully he or another will come and answer your questions. BTW....I cant wait till I've enough jumps and allowed to try one....

At my DZ you need 500 or 200 in the last year and a half....im sure its different depending on DZ and BMI

Well...I guess the next question is......is it a cargo door c-206 or can u get to the wing strut for a hanging exit? As Phreezone said...a hanging exit puts you in a great position to move into your arch....it is how all students at my DZ exit on there IAD's,3 sec,5 sec, etc. So let us know about your DZ's c-206 plz. I am not a instructor...but i hope that my limited experiance may help with your problem. attached are 2 pics of me, hanging and after letting go.

Currency and re-currency training question...
DeNReN replied to schattenjaeger's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm not familiar with the USPA AFF rules reguarding this...but i think skymonkey answered your question already......but I'm gona tell you how it works for myself here in Canada...just because I'm yappy tonight ....If I go 3 months without a jump...I have to do a IAD(not sure if i have to next time...having my solo lic)...this past year i went 5 months without a jump (winter)...returned...made one IAD(jump #21) from 4000....next jump at 8000...then back to my DZ's ceiling for solo jumps of 10,000....the year before..I had to work my way back up slower...IAD/5 sec/10 sec....so they could watch me deploying from the plane...then 8000...and 10,000.....but thats the IAD system....and I've been jumping for 5 years.....sad isnt it...5 years and only 33 jumps -
(65F-32F) * 5C/9F = 18.3 C 18 degrees C....I'll trade you.....supposed to be 4 to 6 deg. Only jump 6 months out of the year sully???.....I wana do a newyears day jump....usual ground temp of -15 to -20 C....tad nipply but...good fun

Visit your local garage and ask for 20 or so oz's of wheel weights....put 5 oz of weights on the inside of each tire on his/her car.....ever sat on a unbalanced washing machine?..let alone driven one
