I have been using a microcrap 5 button optical(corded) for about 2 years now......love the damn thing...maybe because im used to it....but many of my friends still use ball 2 button mouses...drives me crazy to use them....always having to remove the ball and clean the rollers for them because they dont notice that it dosent track properly...no "back button"....other friends have track balls(never could use those insane things)....other friends(programmers) tell me that point and click is the devils work and if you dont know c++..etc, and how to use a keyboard...then get off the comp What do you perfer/use?

Congrats....sounds like a interesting 1st jump with it ....did you consult a rigger before making you changes?.........no snow here yet...but give it a few mins...temp went from 8 deg C at 9am to -2 by noon

New to skydiving looking for advise

Welcome to our addiction and the forums....I agree with most....dont buy shit except for maybe a cheap helmut and goggles ( the icky thing) untill you have some experiance and knowlage of what will suit your needs as a skydiver. -
Hi Mindy and Welcome to the forums. Its perfectly normal to be scared about jumping from a plane...Thats one of the reasons why we do it I believe...for the rush. Usually the anxiety will lessen with more jumps...but somedays are better or worst than others. Is there a particular part of the skydive that causes your panic?...What are u thinking about on the accent and door opening?....Are you scared of the plane ride or a possible mal during your jump? Try and narrow down the reason for your fear...then address that part of the skydive. Planning every aspect of your skydive and rehearsing it(including emegency proceedures) should help....if your feeling overwhelmed about advancing and trying new things..back it up....redo a level..have a fun jump..do something you have already done and feel comphy doing. Hope this helps....and talk to your instructors about it....they can offer more in person than we can online.

ACK...You just recommended automotive mechanics to someone...shame on you! Yes...the pay can be decient...depending on qualifications. Yes..a good qualified tech can always get a job. The trade is brutal!...I wouldnt recommend anyone becoming a auto mechanic....I'll leave it at that...I dont have 2 hours to finish by typing out all the cons. I always thought being a aircraft techie would be cool.

All you young whipper snappers....why when I was you age....I had to walk 5 miles through waist deep snow to get to the DZ....and half the time that damn zepplin would be grounded due to the Red Barron striffing the area because his wife liked young skydivers......... Set up in a box To initiate, bring you legs close together and extend them. Bring one arm in across you chest, roll the shoulder under and leave the opposite arm extended to your side. To follow through,hold initiating move untill you are "back-to-earth", then reverse the arm position to continue rotation. To counter, return to the box position as you return to a "belly-to-earth" position. Took that outa the CSPA PIM's....works great

Your not the only one with several years skydiving and low jump numbers.....My 1st jump was July 1999...I'm at #33 now...should be higher but my Dz has been down due to redtape issues for 7 weeks.....and its supposed to snow this weekend....owell...I will jump myself into the poor house next year
