-
What age did you start skydiving?
DeNReN replied to GoRdOn8619's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
July 99 at age 33...if I had been smart and started at age 18....well I'd have at least 200 jumps in by now -
Hmmm....you just got me thinking so I checked my rig....its a W13(oopsy).... ordered it for a PD176R and a Pilot 168(went with a Tri 175 after a heart to heart with my instructors)....which makes even less sence to me now Maybe Ankie,Gareth or someone else can explain this....I'm confused(which is not uncommon)
-
there job isnt complete till a "welcome" ban has been issued
-
well????...what was/is the solution??? I have a W10 and my new Tri 175 is quite a snug fit....I dont anticipate any problems when I downsize to a 150 in a couple hundred jumps.
-
hehe...destructive little fuckers arnt they??......did you check the airbox for a nest??? We prob find atleast 50 nests a year in air boxes at our shop...usually in cars that sit for over a week.
-
Yea...I dono about him....he wouldnt sell me a canopy that was a tad agressive for my experiance level(and so thought my instructors also) .....and the damn free pullups he sent me have the print wearing off PS...I am running short on pullups
-
Wish I would have known sooner as to attend the wake ....I sent my condolances to the family via the funeral home site and left them my email addy so they can contact me if they would like the 15 or so pic's I took of Tyler the sunday before last(landing after his 1st freefall(I believe)).....the smile on his face was priceless...he will be missed
-
Holy shit .....I heard the name on the news but didnt relize it was our Tyler I only knew him for a few weeks but he was one of the "nice guys".....always had a smile on his face and super friendly......he had fallen in love with our sport and it was always easy to see the joy on his face.. Blue skies to you Tyler my friend you will be missed greatly Here are a few pic's I took of Tyler a couple of weeks ago......I never had a chance to get them too him

May I suggest telling him(them) that its not required and to maybe save there generosity untill a time when it would really be really helpful(home purchase)...not only will it help you out more in the future but it will also impress upon them that you are thinking beyond present needs/wants and looking forward(maturity)

Look to your left...low jump numbers and not a instructor. The term jumpsuit is pretty vague....as I am sure your aware there are many different kinds of jumpsuits for many different aspects of skydiving and most are taylored to fit the individual for there body(fall rate) and flying style. For students learning to freefall using even a pair of overalls compared to shorts and a T shirt...there is a big differance....most will find that wearing the overalls helps them maintain stability easier compaired to the lesser drag created with shorts and a T shirt....I only made 3 jumps this weekend...but did one in shorts and a T shirt.....was a great jump..had a blast...but...not near as stable as when I wear something that has more drag.... IMHO...wearing a jumpsuit is a must for students learning to freefall.........once your skill level increases....hey...do what ever ya like Waiting for Instructor input on this
-
sure....take a perfectly good pun and pick it apart
-
Hehe.....good call it seems

I dono man...I can hear the rubber gloves snapping as they prepare for that cavity search.....

not knowing the DZ nor is opperations....how does having having skybabes and other dudes using the same DZ distract military training?? (do I really need to say?)...train them to suck it up and do there job. In real life they will need to ignore any distractions and perform there duties...why not start to ready them for that aspect in there training?? Does the US military need to go civi to keep costs down and provide proper training?...ousting fun jumpers to save the military from buying a otter??...maybe they need to look at their own spending practices and emulate a well run DZ.
-
Is this something like buying a $20,000 toilet seat? Inform us please....cant be good if no fun jumpers are allowed...but is it a good thing for the US tax payer?

1st...filling out some info on your profile will help with getting responces....dont need to post your mothers maiden name but some experiance info would be helpful. 2nd...always take any advise/oppions from online polls with a grain of salt and consult your instructors before making any decissions. 3rd...send me lots of money. 4th...I reciently had to make a similar decision about what canopy to buy...as a newbie to the sport it was not a easy choice....did a fair amout of research using the wonderful search function that is avaible on all the forums. 5th...I chose to buy a triathlon...seemed a logical choice for a good all around 1st canopy and my instructors endorsed it(made a substantial downsize)...they were leary of the pilot because of the downsize...but ok'ed the tri and also said that a spectre would also be suitable. 6th...send me money...now

I would venture to guess that the snot started a flowing due to pressure equalizing...higher pressure in the sinus finding a way out and taking said snot along with it ..(gross..yet cool at the same time) Run it past your doctor..she what he/she sais......but as a mechanic....my question would be...when was the last time you serviced your sinus??...did you use a approved snot reducer?? Welcome to skydiving !!!

Sweeeet....and did you roll around on the floor with it?...not that I did with mine or have pic's of...... And just remember...packing that slippery as a walrus's nostrels canopy will make packing any other canopy a breeze once you develop your method
