I have to concur with the others...as I have seen swings of well over 500ft just from barametric pressure.... I just moved to a new house(old house..but new to me)...and noticed a 1000ft differance from the last time it was "zero'ed at the DZ....ASL at the DZ is 124ft..old tin hut is approx 500ft ASL...new house is approx 600ft ASL...was a nice sunny day when I looked ...wishing i was at the DZ. In reality a altimeter can be used a a barometer back to the thread topic..if its off..send it back...from everything I have read on these forums...its one stand up company

TY....I am trying to get to the source of his problem here....alot of ppl have offered oppions etc...but few have addressed the source of the problem.....I find it hard to believe that a Sabre will not front riser dive/turn ....with the proper input..... Hence my Q as snafu's Q....about the input to the risers...is it a strength issue?...front risers can be quite hard to pull down let alone maintain(I can get about 540 deg on fronts outa my Tri.....but I am a mechanic with pretty good upper body strength...and thats all I can do...360 stresses me)....... Again...back to the issue/thread begining...not being able to get some dive out of a fairley snappy canopy at a decient w/l on front risers.....something is amiss here.

I can do the same on my Spectre 190, but only if the slider is down and the chest-strap is loosened. Are you saying that you cant front riser turn your Spectre 190 unless your slider is down and your chest strap is loosened?????
-
use the force :) I can make 180 on Spectre-170 (@ 1.15-1) I can do the same on 190 (@1-1) this takes some strong grip and there is a point in the manouver when you are efectively hanging one-handed on the front riser... I grab and pull at least to my face-level I have been following this thread but havent responded due to low jump numbers etc etc ....but there is a lack of info...How far are you pulling the front risers down??...as snafu sais ...he pulls them down to about face level....I pull them down farther...but do get a good reaction even at face level.....How far do you pull the front risers down??...(hell I've even front riser sprialed a 288 manta..not easy...but have done it to qual for the CSPA A cop)..... Maybe its a matter of not pulling them far enough??or of trim as others have suggested...but lets get all the info 1st and go from there before u go to a 1.3w/l

I like the Warning sticker that came on my hurricane.. DANGER! you are participating in a dangerous sport this helmet serves no protective purpose and is not intended to provide any protection from any head, brain, neck or facial injuries. severe head, brain, neck, spinal or facial injury, including paralysis or death, may occur to you despite using this helmet. read all warnings and directions included with your helmet. ! I'll never remove that sticker

1st...ask your instructors...they know best 2nd....I am not a instructor(far from it) I did my IAD progression in Canada but I believe the program is fairley similar...as you progress to PPCT(practice pulls)...usually on the 3rd or 4th jump depending on the program and how you did on your previous jumps....you are still being deployed in the same manor...being IAD'ed....but now you practice a mock PC toss...so the instrustor can see if you will do it properly(cant just chuck ya out the door and expect ya to save ure own life )....at my home DZ we put some rolled up newspaper in the PC pouch and even though you are expected to do a proper count and pull the instructor will IAD you as normal...looking for a proper arch, count and pull....the paper going into the wind tells the instructor that you found the "PC" and put it into the airstream... Arch thousand, reach thousand, throw thousand...a 3 sec delay...this is what is taught at my home DZ....after you have proven to your instructors that u can do this...usually the 6th or 7th jump is your 1st real freefall even if only for 3 seconds... Hope that helps and remember to ask your instructors...they are the ones responsible for your training and the ones you should be directing the questions at
