    Go ahead, walk out, really! I did just that at my last job after ten years I'd finally had my fill of bullshit. Just stood up from my desk, said F*#K this I quit, put on my jacket and walked out. My boss followed me to the parking lot begging me not to leave. One of the most wonderful feelings I've ever had in my life!! The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    I did a Santa Clause jump out of a Super Cub and with all the peices and parts of that costume, including the pillow, it was just Hell getting out. Finally just fell backward out the door and grabbed beard, hat, etc and threw the pilot chute. Still don't know how I got to the ground with the entire costume intact. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Don't know if this really happened but heard it from more than one person. Seems there was a group of guys in the North Texas area in the mid to late 70s who were very good at hijacking demos. If they heard about a good demo, they would show up about ten minutes before it was scheduled, make an outlaw jump into the venue, steal the glory and make a quick getaway. Can you inagine the confusion when the real demo team showed up? The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Didn't know a soul there that Sunday afternoon I went to the drop zone alone to find out about a first jump static line course. Signed up and that next Thursday night, went to somebody's house, who I didn't know, in a bad part of town, met five other students and sat through the first jump course in the living room for five hours. Went back to the DZ on Saturday morning, by myself, made the jump that afternoon and had many friends that evening. Don't worry about starting out by yourself, you won't be that way long The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Was packing outside on a packing mat and heard the jump plane (182) in it's typical screaming dive back to earth to get the next load decent. Really didn't pay that much attention to it until an object suddenly stuck in the grass about 30 feet from where I was. Turned out to be the oil dipstick access door that ripped off the jump plane while decending and hurtled to the ground like a ninja's throwing star The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    I always thought the airplane ride was the most dangerous part of the skydive. I can sit here and off the top of my head, think of nine jump planes in 20 years of skydiving, that I've regularly jumped out of, that have crashed and five of them involved involved fatalities. I'm sure there were others but can't think of them at the moment. Luckily, I wasn't on any them. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Maybe it's just me who would feel this way but next jump, during opening sequence, concentrate real hard on what it would feel like if your leg straps became unfastened or suddenly broke and you fell out of your rig. I thought about that a few times during opening and it REALLY scared the shit out of me. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    I think it may be a Broussard, which is a French built airacraft similar to the Beaver. The main difference are the little verticle stabilizers on the ends horizontal stabilizer. There was one on the airport where I jumped in the 80s at the same time we were jumping a Beaver. I also think there was some difference in the windows, also. The Broussard wasn't certified to fly in the US unless under an experemental or restricted catagory. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

    Heard an item on the news driving to work this morning relating the fact that the number of people covered be insurance provided by employers is down in the last five years from 75% to 50% of all workers. What a disturbing trend!!! The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
