Good point, Colonel Tom from West point brought this to my attention when I was doing the coach class. It has stuck with me since. I also check for hair line cracks in the hardware which you cant see, just move them left to right. It only takes a second, it's something that I do..along with the regular stuff. I also move my reserve cable from one end to see if it moves from the other end.

Stonybrook university (suffolk county NY) did a study this past summer @skydive Long Island. They had some monitors hooked up to the tandems while in freefall. Not sure about the data to date but be worth checking. -
I am getting ready to send my cypress 2 for it's 4 yr check. From what I'm told they put a modification on it that calculates jump#'s. Anyone have this done yet??

Question to skydivers from Joe Jennings
firstime replied to JoeJ's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
my jumping started with a phone call from my son. He told me that it was a static line jump from 3K. Well, he held the truth a tad. When I got to the DZ to find I was doing a jump from 13,500, the mere fact of 13 thousand feet made my heart go into the heart attach mode. I then said "fuck you I aint doing this" Then one his buddys said your old man is a fuckin pussy. Now they all think I am a lunatic. Damned if you do & damned if you don't -
been there done that, I waited 2 days and was surprised that the pressure was not bad @ about 3k, but at 5K I was screaming, I just opened the door & got out, I didnt give of hoot where I was, I landed in a built in pool with a couple of naked fat girls who wouldnt let me drown myself All kidding aside, the tooth pain really sucks

my rigger , Mike Gocke is the only person to service my rig, if I would have no choice to go elsewhere I would call him first prior to have someone else do the work. It's a comfort zone that I will never drift from.

If you stay in the sport long enough, it will kill you. dumb statement -
as colonel Tom from west point put it "it's not how many you have but how many jumps you have left". If you still have stuff to learn your always a noob

I had a 190 main with a 176R, had my first reserve ride and it flew like a cadillac. not much of a difference between the two. From my own experience, i dont think that a smaller reserve is a bad thing....it gets you home

The Sabre is a much nicer canopy then the PD 170. The flare is totally different then the Sabre. I am confused by this statement. PD makes the sabre???

I have corrected this myself, I eat 2 bannanas and I feel like a million $ 1 hr later. It works for me, give it a shot
