Oh, great! I just paid $1K for mine! -
I stripped out the threads on my Camcorder, how do I fix it?
StevePhelps replied to TALONSKY's topic in Photography and Video
I assume they are so bad that a bottom tap would "clean" the threads? I did the same thing (I have a gorilla grip too) and a gentle pass with a bottom tap made the threads okay. -
maybe?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=30018&item=3837865669&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I had a PC7 with a metal step ring. A riser slap knocked off the wide angle and the front of the camera. Who knows if a plactic ring would have saved the camera, but it would be nice to know.

Okay, it was slow wednesday -- just us four jumpers. the two RW people decided to a "DOSIE_DO" while I filmed and another vidiot filmed as well. We launched this from a C-182. The first vidiot was under the strut, I was all the way out and the two RW were in a modified float. I quickly got slammed. (I caught up and made the rest of the dive) But what can you tell me so this wouldn't happen again? Thankfully it was a nonrev fun jump! www.skydivevideo.info/bump.wmv

Dave Hope so -- it looks like a slow weekend.

Just a film capture of me and a two way "dosie do" but hey, when you're the camera man, it is the best you can hope for at times.

Now THAT was too funny!

I need a ring sight without the lens. I lost the vision in my left eye last summer so anything that obscures my good eye (like a newton or lollipop) is no good. Presently I us a bolt and a piece of PVC. Any idea where I could find one -- or an old sight I could punch out the lens and just use the frame. The PVC works great for me, but looks crappy, and unprofressional

What anti-fog solution do you use on your camera lens?
StevePhelps replied to rylord's topic in Photography and Video
Yeah, same here I should say in Okie-homa. Cat crap works well for freefall, but my canopy ride is usually fogged up no matter what I use. Then I simply wipe the lens off with a cleaning cloth I keep in my pocket when I land so I can tape the AFF and tandem's landings. I also reapply every trip up. -

I use catcrap, but nothing is too effective in Okie-homa. ANybody else find anything that works consistently in high humidity states? -

good ones dave, How about, "SKYDIVEVIDEO captured my booty on film ... and I'm okay with that!" lame?
-
Quade, you are an original! LOL!

A little input would be appreciated. I'm trying to get a mascot theme going for my video concessions like Andy Frey's "monkey cam". I have vision in only one eye so I'm thinking a "pirate" theme (patch ... get it). Check my website and you'll see a logo with a skull and camera gear. I need some play on words like treasure, booty, etc. Something like, "capturing your treasure" but not so lame. Any idea?

I recognize those oil tankers!!! Still waiting for someone to take a picture of me.

Turtle Totally cool with me -- what issue? What page? Picture?

I ride a Harley and I do not wear a helmet -- I'm glad it is my choice to make. I agree with the poster who said the real danger is in the city -- the open road is remarkably safe.

I have group ID rings Ballad of Green Berets for generic Good Bad & the Ugly for my church members No shoes, no shirt, no problem for my cancun buddies Friends theme for well ... friends Sweet Home Alabama for family members Unchained Melody for wife. LaBamba for skydiving buddies.

What holds your camera to the helmet?
StevePhelps replied to Unutsch's topic in Photography and Video
I use the tripod screw inside a Dbox, but another vidiot at our DZ simply bolts the camera on top and adds a strap for added security. Personally, I prefer the Dbox but I also prefer the camcorder on my side instead of top mount. I top mount a digital rebel with only a screw. I'm fixin' to put a gold member on the top for the Rebel though. -
Sasha sounds good to this old man for FF
