  2. I've never jumped a hornet, but I was asking a rigger and local canopy guru at our dz last week about them and he said basically they are great canopies! He just said that he couldnt get the openings to be how he liked them, a bit hard sometimes, other than that he said they fly great!-LOL D.Chisolm C-28534 webmaster@sunraydesigns.com http://www.sunraydesigns.com
  3. My favorite one as of late by the TM's at my dz are, "I just got this job yesterday from the temp agency, said on the job training in a friendly atmosphere. I just could not pass it up! We have been working on this all day and I THINK I have it down pretty good now." With jokes like those the passenger KNOWS that you're joking. Sometimes the calming words are a little more serious but seem to be quite effective, stuff like: " My 10 year 0old son is on the ground watching me skydive today, do you think I want us to get hurt?" I've seen that one work in the plane a few times now-guess it depends on the personality of the passenger. Whatever method everyone chooses to use at my dropzone usually works for the most white-faced passengers, if you're smiling you cant be having a bad time right? 4. A very ballsy friend of mine caught another friends heatwave 100 after a reserve ride last sat, with his foot. That was a slick grab! I also watched a freebag of mine land smack dab in the middle of a pond back in 96, went back to the dz and got a ride to where it was, the peple were not home so I took it upun myself to hop in their rowboat and row my ass out to where the bag was afloat, spring at the bottom, there was a little damn mouse in the freakin boat with me, some how the freebag was covered in ants! Guess they were out for a swim that day. D.Chisolm C-28534 webmaster@sunraydesigns.com http://www.sunraydesigns.com

Well patchboy- aka pyke - will hopefully get things his way with work and get himself a visit from the "canopy fairy" -LOL The only thing that really bothers me about wearing the student jumpsuit is that it doesnt really fit, it has a hole in the ass, a my old one is hanging right next door, but it would be a little tighter than the student one!-LOL D.Chisolm C-28534 webmaster@sunraydesigns.com http://www.sunraydesigns.com

    Question

Lots o variables but if it opened and was "within" (i'm assuming you mean in the lines and under?) than it really wouldnt be through the main risers all the way. I would only cutaway if the pair was not landable, and if the main "peeled" away enough to clear the reserve into clean air, if the reserve risers were through the main risers than the main risers would be on the outside, hopefully not slapping some d or steering lines on the way out. I've only been jumping for about 5 years so if your looking for answers dont take my word in stone. If you're trying to see if anyonne knws what you know and I am wrong please tell me. I really dont think that there is a right or wrong answer to this, lots o variables and every situation may require different action depending on them. Boy decisions like that suck, specially if you have two out cause of a cypress fire, you'd prolly land if you took to long to decide!-LOL D.Chisolm C-28534 webmaster@sunraydesigns.com http://www.sunraydesigns.com

    Question

Well 1. that would suck 2. If it hapened the reserve would probably be in front-in a biplane anyway, and in theory I guess a cutaway would work, assuming there is nothing else in the way that would wanna choke off the reserve. Seems to me you would have a better chance of clearing the main with it being in the back, as opposed to the main in the front in a biplane. 3. I've never really thought about that exact scenario-thanks for bringing it up, but I learned about two canopies out situations when I had an A license. Please someone correct me if I am wrong-LOL D.Chisolm C-28534 webmaster@sunraydesigns.com http://www.sunraydesigns.com
