That's how everybody drives now dopey.

I saw it at the movies and thought that the extra footage did nothing other than to slow the narrative down. You notice in the orignal cut, the mood gets darker and more surreal the further up the river they go, and they start to lose their sense of themselves, The diversions to the plantation and the scene with the showgirls totally broke that flow and really added nothing to the narrative for me. They weren't even really attached to the story in any way, which is probably why they made it to the cutting room floor. The only good additions were the little extra bit of Kilgore, and a little more screen time for Brando, but I still think the orignal cut was tighter and more powerful.

This wouldn't have happened if you'd bought that Wings at Eloy.

Ahh. Another reason I feel good about my decision to get a G5 iMac.

Yup. Any band named after a Motorhead song is Ok in my book. Best albums - Stranger than Fiction, Recipe for Hate Weakest - The Gray Race All IMHO of course.

Great. Then you can be the other person with one.

Document all conversations with her, and also file a grievance with your HR dept. If you don't, be assured that when someone is bitching about 3 minutes off the day, you're going to get canned. If you raise a reasonable issue with HR about harrasment, you could save yourself from the axe, because her actions will now be as scrutinised as yours. If you get canned after putting a complaint in writing, the company would leave themselves in a potentially very actionable position. I had the same problem with my last boss. I documented his nonsense, which rose to the level of harassment. It turned out he was doing the same thing with a lot of other staff. He wound up getting presented with an offer to resign. I now have a much better boss.

That's OK. Oren's working on the same skill set.

Well, it's not nearly as sexy as it was since I stopped running the place, but you should be able to have fun anyway Go see the manager and tell him I sent you. That's good for 10 free jumps each. He may try to talk you out of it, but he's just having fun with you.
-
There's me too, but nobody likes me. I live in Berkeley. If you want to jump in NorCal, you will have to exchange your Infinity for a Wings. Sorry, I have no control over that, it's just the way it is.

That's OK. You did break your leg here.

I like dogs, they are loyal to the extreme. With cats you either bring food or you are food. There are countless cases where old ladies die alone and the cat starts missing dinner. A friend of the family was a coroner and he said he hated going to a house where somebody died and they had cats. A dog will stand over your cold dead body and protect you till he can't stand anymore. Reminds me of the saying "A friend will bail you out of jail, a good friend will be in there with you." That's because dogs are pack animals, and once you've established your dominance over them, that's it. It helps also that most dogs are as dumb as a box of hair. A cat is a super predator, and an obligate carnivore. It cannot survive on food other than meat. In fact, a vegetarian diet will kill a cat in about 3 to 4 days unless a huge amount of expensive additives are put in the food. Apart from lions, they are non gregarious, and don't establish heirarchies the way dogs do. They establish territory instead, and tend to defend it at 3 in the morning outside my fucking bedroom window. A cat left alone with your dead ass and an empty food bowl will regard you as a buffet. It doesn't really have a loit of choice at that point. Another interesting fact about our little friends is that they are the only animal in history to have domesticated themselves. They ain't daft.

Cats. Because everything else is crap, and unlike children, you can put then out in the yard when they annoy you.

Remind myself that at least I didn't vote republican.
-
It's called being an effective opposition. It's what they are supposed to do really. The GOP did it for decades when in opposition. The GOP ran fillibuster after fillibuster on Clinton's judicial picks. It's the way a bicameral legislature is designed. I personally think that the Democrats do better in elections when they show a spine in congress. It galvanizes the base that they badly need. Let's not forget, that both Kerry and Bush got more votes in 2004 that any candidates for president ever got in history. The republican majority isn't that secure that they can legislate at will without seeing consequences during the next electoral cycle. Bottom line is, we'll all be here to keep an eye on each other for a long time to come, so we might as well get used to the idea of compromise.
-
This is exactly the hubris that republicans allowed themselves to develop during the Reagan adminstration. It was unthinkable after Reagan that you'd ever see a Democrat back in the white house. This president is no Reagan either, and his popular majority is about 1%. That's not a rock solid mandate and a lot can happen in four years. The wheel will turn eventually. The Labour party waited neary 20 years in the UK. Remember the 40 years that the GOP waited to get control of congress ? You'll see the wheel turn eventually. It always does. Doesn't matter how much we want it not to. That's why idiotc polemic does nothing other than to separate us all against each other. We're all going to have to work together and make use of that unfashionable word, compromise.

Got in DVD with optional subtitles. Once of best films I've seen in years. The photography is excellent throughout. I may even go to the movies to see it in large screen format.

I didn't hear her raise her voice, did you ? And she'll be around in the senate, long after the mendacious Ms. Rice is tenured in some comfy academic post somewhere. Now, try a little experiment to see if you see beyond your predjuduces. Reverse the party affiliations of the two protagonists and see if you can summon up the same outrage. You'd probably post something about Rice's evasiveness in that case. The whole left/right dog and pony show is a sham. You're just allowing yourself to be worked for their profit and amusement. The wheel will turn eventually, and the Democrats will be on top again one day, so it pays to get all this nonsense in perspective before you get caught up in more of the same old bullshit.

It's funny now all right, but just wait until we've had another four years of this fuckwaddery.....

Me too, as they like to say on AOL. I currently use an RS6000 running AIX Universe. The company uses Dells exclusively, and gave me one for support from home. It's that one that's probably going to do an unannouched skydive very shortly. It's got more free swap space than I care to think about, over 256 RAM, 120G spare disc space, and the thing is as slow and as unwieldy as an abacus.

Indeed I was. Z Hills was the first DZ to run that B-200 while I was working there. It was an amazing aircraft.

Add to list; Scientology - Give us all your shit. Amish - Let's shovel shit Raelians - You couldn't make this shit up

I've just had it after years of dealing with unwieldy frankensteins of lumpen software, bad drivers, vulnerable apps, and crappy failing hardware. Not to mention stock apps like IE that stuff my registry with data miners every time I use it. I'm getting a G5 Imac, I swear. Who's with me ?!

Beer just sucks anyway. It takes up valuable space I need for gin.
