  1. Who cares ? It's her money and her cat. I see the benefit in this as research for the companies involved. It's not so much about getting more cats, but rather advancing the science so that they can successfully clone more and more complex animals for greater profits. We all know that this is going to end up with human cloning sometime, so they might as well work the bugs out on domestic animals and let confused pet owners foot the bill. Besides, you only have to watch one episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous to realize that there's a lot of wealthy people out there spending money on crap.
  2. And rightly so. Regardless of what their overheads maybe, the capital outlay for a container, is for MOST people a very expensive proposition, being concerned about value for money is something that I personally take seriously Which is why Wings allows you to choose whether you tick that box or not. If you think it's too expensive, then just don't get it. It's part of the philosophy of Sunrise. You get to start with a low base price and add exactly what you want. You're not forced into having stainless as part of the rig. All the bling can add up for someone on a budget.
  3. Not any more. Most manufaturers now use use a gated stainless leg starp adaptor that doesn't slip. I've got thousands of jumps on mine and they have never slipped at all.
  4. On a Wings the Standard stainless means only the three rings are stainless, Deluxe means all the hardware. If you're gonna spend the money to look bling bling, go all the way. In standard, the hip rings are also stainless.
  5. Driving down from SF on the 26th......
  6. You need to wipe your nose now.....
  7. With your pygmy pony Mighty Little I presume ?
  8. Buy a Wings, you cheap post whoring Texan shit. No offense meant there.
  9. Sod that. I don't intend to drive at less than three figures the whole damn way. Just keep your scan going on freeways, as you pretty much have to be paced to get a ticket, unless they changed the law in CA since I last checked. I shall also be drinking, smoking a blunt, and squeezing my wang, just to push the envelope. If I'm feeling saucy, I may also kill a hobo. I hate their fucking bindles.

    How come..

Why ? Is the fryer broken ?
  11. Bah. It's just semantics. Nonsense. You're confusing rationalisation and compartmentalisation, which is a concious act, with a pathological disorder. A more common example of a dissociative disorder is usually the result of a defense/coping mechanism to the experience of extreme stress or trauma. It's really got bugger all to do with lying about blow jobs. It's understabable though that you would be confused about that, becuase the police pretty much only have to deal with people who try to rationalize their behaviors to mitigate prosecution or punishment. You'd get absolutely nowhere interrogating someone with a true disassociative disorder.
  12. Lot's of money, low self esteem, and one foot in the grave. Now I'm hard. Dammit.
  13. I very much doubt it. They are very secure. However, there isn't a riser cover out there on any rig that won't come out if it's knocked hard enough on exit or in freefall. If there is a problem with one riser cover, Wings will fix it for you ASAP.
  14. I don't know, but I refuse to find out.
  15. You need your "guy" card revoked. Nonsense. Anything I drive is automatically extremely manly by definition.
  16. I have three Cypres's. When they are due to retire in the next year, I will be getting Vigils on general principle. I'm not rewarding Airtech for making me replace perfectly functional equipment.
  17. Nah. This is going to Eloy in style.....
  18. And as you know, my fat ass loads a 120 quite nicely at 220 out the door, so I'm not expecting it to have the control range of a Navigator there....
  19. 1. Why dont you Americans make your own?
  20. The W10 is a very vesatile size. The best fit would normally be a PD143 or PD160 for a reserve, and a 150 main. You can also get a 135 in there with no problems, and squeeze a 170 in there as well. They are a great sizing for someone who wants to transition canopies without changing rigs. If you ask Ankie at WInsg, she can tell you anything you need to know about sizings. ankie@skydivewings.com
  21. Don't do it. You're not ready. Seriously. I don't mean to cast aspersions on your ability, as I've never met you, but you're combining a lot of high risk factors there, and each one of them will exponentially add to the likelihood of you being involved in a serious accident. If you look at the fatality reports, the greatest percentage of the ones that take place under canopy show that most of the pilots made the same decisions that you are contemplating. That is, novice experience, a radical downsize, and a change of performance type. The Sabre 2 is a relatively docile canopy, as it's designed to be. It has great performance if you choose to bring it out, but that's it's greatest advantage. You can choose to hook and surf if you want to, but it's not going to bite you instantly from inadevertant over controlling, and it's recovery arc is far more forgiving if you do. I've put a fair few jumps on a Katana 120, and I think that's it a stellar canopy. However, I found that I had to be very involved with it from the second that I started coming up under the risers, and it required a lot of attention. It reacted instantly to even minor wieght shifts and control inputs, and there wasn't a dead spot anywhere in the relatively short control range. I have close on 6000 jumps on Stiletto 135's and I found that just dropping one size to a Katana was quite a major change. It was enough to get my full attention. I'll get a couple eventually when the new season demands it. My advice to you is to transition throught a more common elliptical like a Stiletto 135 and knock about 600 more jumps on that. By the time that you've done that, you'll have the starting set of skills to move down into the smaller numbers and the higher performace airfoils. You'll also unfortunately be reading about and seeing the results of those whose confidence in this area have outstripped their ability to accurately do a risk assessment on their choices. At least you had the good sense to ask
  22. Is Pam coming ? Has her rash cleared up ?
  23. No I won't. That's what a flask is for.
  24. Scarry ain't it. He's like the in-law you wish you could hide. Nonsense. As anyone who has met me will concur, I'm just a big fluffy muffin basket, filled with pink rainbows and unicorns. My only noticeable fault is that I am overly poilte, but I intend to work on that.
  25. Don't go there.... You'll be pleased to know that I got them out all ready for AZ this weekend. Not that many people could carry them off, but then I am British, and therefore naturally stylish.
