wow, this is an "unfortunate" comment (toward a fellow skydiver). the smileys at the end dont hide the initial emotion displayed

Pittsburgh PA...a recent transplant from Philly. Funny how everyone talks of Cross Keys - I grew up near there and I think everyone spends all their lives praying for a ticket out of south jersey! I'll let (haha) you put my name on the list for crash pads. If you ever get to steel town or want to jump my DZ, hit me up! (PS: you are in FL? I have fam there... where are you?) edit: corrected typos

SD Aggieland Plane Crash and Recovery (pictures)

glad you are all ok -
I am on AFF4 and I feel your thoughts. Ive always jumped from out the side of twin engine Beech 99, and was on a Cessna 182 this weekend - my new favorite plane! I LIKE the smaller plane (its more "all about me") and hanging from the wing and steping back is SO smooth - right into an arch! See my last post

I made my first jump (an AFF 3) from a Cessna (182) this weekend and liked it BETTER than the turbine Beech 99 I jumped out of 3 times before. I was all giddy and crap back in the packing area and talking to people, and those overhearing my new love and preferrence for this plane made everyone chuckle! Ok, there was downright laughter from a few (all positive of course)! I laughed with them; I loved it! The only thing I miss is 13,500 versus 10,500. But I will survive! Anywho, I am always SO apprehensive about my exit. I am confident in the air and under canopy, but getting 3 people out the door with me sideways from the Beech 99 and getting righted always seems daunting. Especially as I lost one JM once on exit, (but the dive continued well). With the Cessna, I LOVED the view hanging out there on the wing support, and the ease of just stepping off. My JMs said it was excellent too (though I always have exited pretty well from the Beech, I think the slower speed helped too). Also, I think less pressure from seeing 15 people jump out before me - we were all to ourselves. I also should mention I was SUPER scared for some reason a few mins before jump time. The thought "this may not be for me" even ran through my head briefly. I think it was because I only had 3 jumps under me and haven't been up in almost a month. Has this ever happened to anyone? I always think clearly though, and had a "excellent" dive, and was even told I may be able to skip a level. My enthusiasm was renued instantaneously and I am ready (CLAWING) to get up their again. I suppose a little stage fright is ok? Thoughts? Anyways, I am smiling ear to ear as I think of the day, as it was a great jump, and my first "release dive". I didn't even notice I wasn't being held on my reserve side, and my main JM was just pinching my suit grips to stay in the game. I dropped my right knee when I pulled, angling me off a bit, but the main was out fast enough. I got a little more aggressive with turning the canopy and what not, and put it down darn near within 10 degrees. Flared a wee bit high, but I am tough Hope yours was swell also!
