ever pulled one thinking the student might not get to it if they had too? my JM said he tryed to get it in too, to no avail...

So I am doing my AFF2 jump this weekend, and on exit, unknown to me, my reserve handle comes free and slaps my reserve-side JM in his visor. My dive was great and uneventful, but on the ground my reserve JM told me he and the main JM thought about pulling my reserve in freefall, in case I by chance had a mal and would not be able to find the reserve handle. I was jumping a smaller harness this time, and the handles were more on my side. I am sure it was my dumb move knocking it free and rubbed it loose in the plane with my elbow/underarm. I had 3 solid gear checks and I checked all handles at least twice, but there you go... So, I am all good about it all, but has this happened to anyone? What did you do? I'd especially be curious to see what any AFF rated jumpers say...

Telling your SKYDIVING girlfriend how much she rocks
Fireflyer replied to GumbyGirl's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i just started AFF, but my gf and i always seem to have issues with my activities... i race mt bikes a lot and pretty well, and i rarely if ever get a pat on the ass, a clap, or a kiss or something. not that i am a glory hog, but some recognition for my commitment (and that its good to be with a guy that knows how to push himself/commit to something) would be nice. we go on and off time to time solely for that reason... she doesn't much care about me dropping from a plane either so whats your number haha? -
AFF 3 here I come! (thanks Mike and Jason!)
Fireflyer replied to Fireflyer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am just coming off my 3rd jump ever, and completed AFF 2 with the help and care of Mike and Jason at SkydivePA. I wanted to thank them here for their assistance as my JMs. Despite me feeling/getting a little off camber out the door, both were great in helping me complete my exercises, and have a fun, successful experience. I had a little issue with my reserve handle after exit, and I truely appreciated (as I was told later) all of the thought they were putting into the situtation. I also loved NOT hearing a whole lot on the radio on landing (Mike said he saw no need!), and enjoyed flying the landing pattern mostly under my own control. I think the most important thing to me is that not only was Mike a great jumper, but was a great instructor, as I walked away from the debriefing feeling as good as did during the jump! Thanks guys! AFF 3 here I come! -
i couldn't imaging not doing a tandem before my AFF 1 jump... it is so much nicer i think to get the experience of exit and freefall out of the way (they haven't gone away for me yet tho haha) before being more responsible for the jump in AFF. welcome to the board!

But if only 15 percent or so of skydivers are female, doesn't that mean at least 85 percent of skydiving guys would have to be single? factor in the 55% divorce rate and you might be the lucky guy later (i am really just kidding!!!)

thats a goddess by any measure in my book!
-
welcome! i just started aff... make sure you move first, or you will have 100 jumps by time you unpack!
