1.
Begin an assertive flare about twice your height above the ground.
I've heard that your flare should begin depending on how fast youre going? I.E. faster = lower flare, slower = higher flare. Can anyone correct me if I am wrong? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

    Delta vs. Track

So let me get this right. During the first part of a jump (i.e. when youre very sub terminal) its better to hold a delta for 2-3 seconds, instead of transitioning right to a track? Is this a stability issue? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
  3. This is seriously a nightmare of mine, you would be so fucked if your chest strap broke/was misrouted. I tug on mine everytime as part of my equipment check. Scary! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
  4. I have a quick question about the pantz and didnt want to start another thread. Are there any negatives to wearing the pantz during a jump where you wont be tracking the whole thing? In a stabile arch, is there a tendency to backslide or anything? Thanks! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
  5. Other than shoe goo, etc, what can I do for my booties not to wear them out? Rolling them up under so theyre off my shoes for landings once im under a good parachute is about all I can think of. I see a lot of people walking around with their booties on, wouldn't it be better to secure them on the plane ride? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

    Quitting Smoking

I guess this question begs to be asked: How many jump tickets per month does the average skydiver piss away on beer? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

    Quitting Smoking
It's actually dopamine. Nicotine is also a false dopamine. Welbutrin relatively mild but is not minus it's side effects and it sure beats the hell out of smoking's side effects.
OK, I just seem to remember it blocking HT 1 or 2 as well as D1 or D2. I can't keep them straight . I know it has sexual side effects, and that sucks --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
  8. I can't wait until I have my D license so I can stop logging jumps. Its boring! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

    Quitting Smoking
Welbutrin
Isn't wellbutrin a SSRI? I would definitely try some gum/patch/etc before going with something that will change the reuptake of serotoninnn...Just my opinion. Quitting sucks, but keeping smoking sucks even more in the long run. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
  10. if you work there its real easy to steal beer and smoke pot in the break room. I do not know from experience... --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

  12. NO, but your post motivated me to ask my rigger when I buy my used rig (someday) if I can watch the first repack of it. Im sure I could learn a ton from him. Peace! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
  13.
You're gonna need BASE canopies to survive the fall from your high horses.

I want to be a part of the group, PLEASE! Do I need to do more self-righteous preaching or have I been excluded because I already own a BASE rig and won't get hurt when I fall off my high horse?
I think you might enjoy that too much! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

    Delta vs. Track

ok, maybe I'm totally wrong, but the delta is a diving maneuver, whereas the track is a dearched, flat horizontal manuever. I'm pretty sure a track covers more ground than a delta, right? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
  15.
Lighten up HUH?
no, no, no, I wasn't trying to insult the original poster. I guess I should of included thanks for posting the news. I just meant maybe it would reach more people and be more effective as a post in incidents. Plane crashes are pretty scary shit, hopefully we can learn something from it --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

  17. pardon me, but what is this doing in talkback? Why not post it in incidents? This is a skydiving incident, and posting a news article only is appropriate as far as I know. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

    Delta vs. Track

Why do I (you) see people a lot in video (thats the only time I've seen people BASE jump, so far!) that go into the delta position, rather than the full out track position? Is the track inherently less stable than a delta? Because a good track will beat a good delta any day in distance covered, and I assume the objective is to get as far away from the object youre jumping. Does it have to do something with subterminal vs terminal? I hope I explained clearly... --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
  19. wow, arn't you afraid of fucking up the landing and in turn fucking up your camera? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

  24. I'm not a tandem I, but at my DZ I feel why its done that way is to let the passenger feel like they are helping in landing the parachute rather than just being a sack of rocks. For instance, its not uncommon for the "video guy" to yell out NICE LANDING to the passenger. I think it'd be a little stupid if the passenger had just sat there while the Instructor did everything. Maybe I'm wrong though? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
