ok, what are the rules here on this one if you get to altitude, and your student refuses to jump. I assume every instructor is different, but do you try to persuade him to do it by motivating him, or do you accept it and ride it down with him, or do YOU jump and bypass the landing, etc. I guess the most conservative thing to do would be to try to persuade him for a try or two and then accept it and ride it down, correct? The cypres is an electronic device, and as such will malfunction from time to time. However, in my opinion if you can set the cypres off while swooping at high speeds, thats not a malfunction, thats the swooper not knowing his own gear's capabilities/downfalls. So, where is a documented case of a cypres firing mid swoop because of speed? 182s are by far the easiest in my opinion. Im still trying to get nice clean exits nailed down on King Air's and Otter's. For some reason it is taking me a little effort, but, hey who said I wouldn't be giving it my all on some skydives!
