2. I feel safer skydiving than I do driving on a busy interstate. But thats just me, I hate driving in traffic. I dont know how any statistics hold up to this, nor do I really care. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
3. I like it how they routinely answer questions about USED canopies I am researching to buy. Its great to have a manufacturer back up canopies on the used market. To be fair Icarus has been pretty good about getting back to me too. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
4. hehe thanks SP. I'm not too worried about it, was just curious if riggers had neat toys that could tell exactly how accurate it was. I'm still trying to make it out to Raeford for a few jumps in the near future so watch out . I was just planning on comparing my alti to others in the plane ride up for the first couple times just to check that its on... Thanks for the replies!
5. do you mind linking us directly to the page that explains the camp so we dont have to wade through the entire site??? Sounds like a great camp though. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
6. not to mention if you visit a licensed massuese (sp?) you can probably get most if not all written off on insurance. Heal well, my prrrecioussss --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
7. cool derek, so I take it testing chambers arn't too common then? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
8. fyi just bc you landed off doesnt mean you have to repeat the level. I think it happens to beginners a occasionally, still getting used to what exactly the DZ looks like from the air! Just talk to your instructors, I bet if you talk to them about why you had a slight spin left and how you accidentally overcorrected they'll pass you, sounds like you did fine, at least you didnt bust your hard deck! Good luck! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

10. ok, I think I was misunderstood with my original post. Thanks JT for pointing out that I could jump with two, but I already thought of that I just wanted to know if my rigger or a rigger could test it in a pressure chamber or if it was common for a rigger to even have such a tool. Whatever, I'll just ask my rigger this weekend. CIAO!
11.
I do find it odd that the LCD screen on the ProTrack stops at 119 seconds, but JumpTrack charts stop at 120. Weird.
Arn't they making the pro track with the longer time readout now though? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
12. I have heard mention a couple of people talk about testing altimeters to figure out if its accurately reading or not. Can this be done in a pressure chamber for exact results? If so should a master rigger have a pressure chamber that he could do this to mine? Thanks!
13. is it ok to back slide/side slide to take a dock if you think its coming in too fast, or would you be better off just getting out of the way and letting the guy go past fast? Is it a bad habit to get into to do this (I know I'd only be able to do it during a 2 way anymore than that and the ENTIRE formation would have to slide together which doesnt sound too feasible/practical). My one big worry about jumping with other inexperienced folks is theyre going to slam into me trying to get to me. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
14. theres a TON of information about this, but yeah, theyre not hard if you train right. I did one about 2 years ago during the summer in between track and cross country. Just slowly build up your mileage, and if you havn't been running for a super long time, VERY slowly build your mileage. Look on the net for useful info! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
15. Quit smoking, its a bad habit. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
16. the pictures you have shown are from exposures greater than 30+ seconds. The camera "grabs" light and builds a denser image. In "real life" the aurora is less dense, more etheral, and way more awesome. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

18. hmm, thats interesting, but how often do you pull your reserve at terminal? I thought sub terminal reserve openings were more common? (still interested in the terminal numbers if anyone has them). --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
19. so youre saying it would be impossible to close the main tray and have the PC not be able to pull the pin out (taking into consideration proper routing, etc)? The numbers lend themselves to say that. I would think if 15 pounds was rock tight and you needed >80 pounds to create a PC in tow, it wouldnt humanly be possible. Right? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
20. ahh, sweet pic, D-dog! A little bit different than the summity type look people have on their faces after going UP a cliff... --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
21. just a sign that birks are better than tevas. But you can't skydive birks (well I guess you could some models, but not the classic model I have) --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

if you mess up and start smoking dont cave and start smoking full time again. It's ok to mess up, just become more determined next time you WILL NOT mess up. Its great to finally kick the habit and look back 2 years later and laugh at the thought of a cigarette. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

buy a cheap ass weight bench from walmart. theyre like 60 bucks or something for a basic deal. That usually includes a couple free weights you can use for everything, calf raises, squats, curls, tricep bends, etc. The weight bench mainly for bench press... It's worth it, lifting weights will make you a better skydiver. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
