2. Other people can tell as well, rhino, so there really is no problem. It's best just to let people say whatever they want to say and then decide for yourself which manufacturer you want to go with. An angry customer represents something, maybe not that Icarus doesn't care, but it sure represents something. Alternately, no manufacturer is perfect. Glowing reviews of perfection have to be taken with the same grain of salt that hateful responses do. We're human. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
3.
of course he is, the security blanket is no good if it doesnt make you feel 'safe & warm'
Not to mention the fact that he would have to be the biggest asshole in the world to lambast somebody in front of grieving relatives. I'd find the guy later and be forced to kick his ass if he did that to someone I knew. Its just a sign of lack of respect, no matter if you believe in Hell or not. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
4.
Nice family... suing the Church - and how would "God" feel about that???
I imagine by now our affairs have tired God to the point that he doesn't give a shit. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
5.
b/c the preist is probably dead broke! the catholic church on the other hand isnt.
Yeah, unfortunately the people that sue usually arn't trying to make a political/social statement and are usually just doing it for the cha ching. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
6. well once you break it down that sounds better! I guess it beats paying for your jump ticket and a coach's to get a short shitty debrief. Maybe if you had a lot of extra cash laying around this would be a good idea... --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
7. duuuuuude. Save your money and just buy the jumps at the local dropzone and talk to experienced camera flyers, etc. Why dump thousands of dollars on some course when if you look hard enough you can find people who are willing to teach you for free, out of sheer love for the sport. I read in the "old days" people were coached for free regularly, I wish that I had lived in those times, it makes me kinda sick when a fellow skydiver wants money out of the new "crop" of young skydivers. When I have enough experience to teach people I will do so for free. Thats what this sport is all about, imo. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
8. why sue the catholic church? That makes no sense. If anything sue the priest for emotional harm suffered. The church cannot be 100% effective in choosing truly righteous people to be priests. We've seen that with all the molestings lately --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
9. sounds cool, man! Now hurry up through your AFF so you can do some relative work with me! Ask as many questions as you can to your instructors and learn as much as possible. Just soak it all in, dude. And have FUN!
10. if you go over 30 days since your last jump they make you repeat the level you were on. I did a level or two every couple weeks. As my income came in... --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

bridle dump?

I have recently read about people's PCs half hitching over themselves, tying knots, etc. At first I was puzzled at this, and could not figure out how a PC could knot itself if not trapped very badly in the burble. But yet people still talk about knots in the bridle with no PC hesitation. Could the reason for this be what I titled my post, "bridle dump"? When finishing to fold the PC and still having greater than 12+ inches of bridle that one has to basically s fold very neatly and push into the BOC along with the folded PC containing the bulk of the s folded bridle. When deploying the PC you would pull it out as normal, but also pull out 12+ inches of slack bridle. All the PC would have to do is oscillate around the slack bridle and bingo a knot. Bridle dump. If I remember correctly people were saying for the most part the knot was close to the PC, this would support my theory. Ahh, ok, what do you think? I always try to be very careful stowing the PC. Would the best way to stow the PC be leaving no "extra" bridle after folding it, i.e. just enough to route it down the container, into the BOC, and to the base of the folded PC. Is that understandable? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

21. negative recovery arc means that without input the canopy will stay in a dive, driving the pilot into the ground? A positive recovery arc refers to the canopy's natural ability to pull itself out of a dive after initial riser input has been given, thus making it easier to "dig oneself out of the corner". Is this correct? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
22.
After I couldn't find the handle I figured you were goinna pull for me
Don't EVER assume anyone is going to save your life by pulling for you. You're in charge of YOUR life. I'm sure your instructor told you that. Sounds like a good first dive, I tried to pull high too on my first dive for some odd reason (I was loving freefall I just didn't want to bust my hard deck). My instructor slapped my hand away at ~7k and gave me the relax signal. Sounds like you had fun! Are you ready to go up again!?
