  1. That is what Saddam Hussein used to do. I guess he wasn´t that bad, eh?
  2. I am aware of all the problems that could arise if a teacher lay a hand at an student, but what about if it was a teenager beating the rest of the class? would the teacher do something or give the teenage monster 10 full minutes to kill someone before the police arrives? I bet that the teacher would do something even phisically stop him, if not he could be sued for not doing anything. Actually what Wendy proposed seems to me like the most sensible way to handle the situation. After all, it is VERY possible to lift a 40 poung little girl without harming her in the slightest. If they have no nurse, the principal will do, if not any other teacher that have some time off. Again, people seems to forget that we are talking about a 40 pound 5 years old girl. If we were talking about a 200 pounds senior at highschool, to call the police seems about right (plus pepper spray and a tazer if you like)
  3. Exactly, every revolution must start from within, and they sooner or later happens. The question is if Bush is willing to wait or will want to rush things. I wouldn´t trust anyone who hears voices in his head that tells him to do things.
  4. Considering that we are only fed what the media wants to, i don´t think that this is over yet. How many civilians are still dieing? How many U.S. soldiers are being blown up to pieces? How much better or worse are innocent people in Irak? It seems lately the media is very quiet about this issues...
  5. I am sure that the little spoiled brat is a real pain in the ass, and probably the parents are somewhat responsible of her behaviour, but i think you are forgetting that it is a 5 years old girl whom we are talking about. And you cannot expect any kid that age to be neither responsible nor rational. If handcuffing a 5 years old girl is apropiate, then the natural progression would be a pepper spray at 7, a tazer at 9 and a .38 bullet in her head at 11. Seriously, i cannot believe that the only way was to handcuff her or call the police for that matter.
  6. For god´s shake, it is only a 5 years old girl. I would be assamed if i was a teacher and i had to call the police to calm her down. And i would be even more embarrased if i was a police officer and i had to cuff hands and legs of a 5 year old girl. Come on guys, what is next? the police shooting her down because she was a threat to the police officer well being?
  7. Can he actually do it without her consent? I mean, just in case she wanted to she is unable to sign it. Also, is it known who is currently paying her medical bills?
  8. LMAO... When I was 5 years old my mother took me to a restaurant, and then this guy there started making faces at me, i guess just pretending to be funny. Well, I went berserk and kick him in the shin, started screaming and throw a plate of soup at my mother. Pretty much what that girl did. I took me quite a while to calm down, and still to this day my mother sais that i neve have embarrased her as much as that day. . Needless to say we had to leave the restaurant. Good thing my mother didn´t call the police.
  9. Come on guys!!!! cheer up!!!!! One country less to share the oil with! Anyway, does it really matter? i mean, European standards for military are so low the italian would only get in the way of your bullets.
  10. That is the only good thing about it. But unfortunately i think that doesn´t make up for how succesful they are when they strike. ETA and IRA are not nearly as succesful due to the fact that those cowards don´t want to risk that much (fortunately). There was some rumors of ETA associating wih AlQuaeda. I really hope it was just that, rumors.
  11. That is what i thought. I don´t think think MJ is the most respectble guy in the neighbourhood, but i think that the parents of those kids are much worse. If the jury finds MJ innocent, there shoould be some punishment for the families that lied in court.
  12. Do not forget that islamist terrorist do not mind at all if they die, so they would, most likely, prefer to fly the plane themselves and make sure it reaches their objetive.
  13. I don´t know then why Georgie got so pissy when the "old Europe" didn´t want to back him up in his oily adventure. I heard he almost choked on a pretzel (again).
  14. But they are not... Someone claimed in another thread that due to economic reasons the government could not target everyone in the ads and the best grouping would be by sexual inclination/gender/race (gay/ black women) I think this incidents is directly related foremost to human stupidity (her) and secondly to a poor anti-HIV campaign from a religious leading government. IMO, if there is not enough money to advertise to everybody, the most important group to target are teenagers who are about to discover sex.
  15. Let´s suppose that MJ is innocent... If the jury declares him innocent, is there anyway that he can get back the money he has spent defending himself? Would the families prosecuting be obligated to pay the cost of the trial, judge, security, etc... (even other party lawyers?)
  16. Woaw, who could have known? i mean, she wasn´t gay, right?. Then she must be a black woman, because everybody knows than most of the HIV positives are either gay or black woman, so no need to target any other group, right? sorry for the rant, but i couldn´t help myself from relating this thread to the rare disease/gay/HIV thread.
  17. Yep, one of his books "digital fortress" talks about Spain and computers. I am spanishs and I work on IT, i assure you he has not put the minimal effort in research his facts in this book. Kind of dissapointing because after reading angels and demons and the davinci code i felt like most of the things he was talking about had some true in it. I am doubting now.
  18. But they will not do that. Many people, muslims and not muslims do not believe that what is being done in Irak has anything to do with terrorism. After the twin towers terrorist attack, U.S retaliate against afghanistan, people where not too happy, but it was somewhat understandable. After that, and using up all the political capital the U.S had gotten after the terrorist attack, the U.S decided to pursue their own interest in the middle east. It doesn´t matter that one of your goals may be to free the iraquis or some other altruistic goals, the fact is that you have other goals that are not altruistic at all. Now, muslims are quite pride people, and they do not like that at all. That is why they will not mention the twin towers or america, although i am sure they condemn the lost of any innocent life (and they said that in their fatwa) I think that if the Irak war had not happened you guys would have much more support from the non-radical islamic community.
  19. As long as those matters are private, any politician is free to take the opportunity to discuss personally with the pope or Jesus God himself. But if from the outcome of that conversation there is going to be a draft for a new law, the whole situation is just plain wrong unless you live in a teocracy. I bet that if there was a law such as that if the woman dies in the delivery, the father shares her fate (AKA being put to sleep), we would see more tolerance from catholic men. Yes, but your rights finish when someone else´s rights start, and i think it is a cheap shot to try to pass laws so people will be obligated to do what you think is right. Chris
  20. Do you realize today was the first aniversary of the bombing? why would they mention the twin towers?
  21. Look what you got chuteless!!! a more heated response that if i had started a thread about Irak illegal invasion... I thought that was not possible. Well, i have some news for you. Abortions have always existed and always will. Now you have all this fancy clinics where abortions can be made at minimal risk for the woman, before they were performed by an old woman with a hanger and no studies. See, even religious people get abortions when it is not convenient to have the baby. To be honest i am not very fond of abortion, but in no way i think i should tell women what to do with their body, specially if i didn´t have anything to do with their pregnancy. Now, why should we worry about abortion when we have all this religious priests abusing little kids. To me, that is a bigger problem than letting woman decide.
  22. Actually yes, in Europe we do have the habit of calling all humans human beings and grant them all the rights our constitution allows for, and also the punishments if they misbehave. It is only in "banana republic" countries that the constitution changes on a case by case basis. I thought the U.S was with us in the "coalition of the constitutionally democratic"
  23. Sorry, i didn´t get a fuzzy warm feeling when spain was part of the coalition of the willing, so i guess that explain why i don´t see the patch funny. What i find funny is that the moron who photoshopped that picture (I am assuming it was neither the soldier nor the DZ poster) didn´t realized the disserviced he was doing to that soldier. In many countries it is considered unprofessional to wear patches like that, for a soldier is not supposed to voice out loud his political opinions.
