  1. OW!OW!OW!OW!OW!!! You did this on purpose!? FallRate
  2. Ok, I may be alone here, but I have noticed in the past that the ads for Cummings Rigging Works in Parachutist tend to be a little pompous. But the second running of the World Trade Center picture in this months issue, reminding us all that Mr. Cummings is one of only a few who have been granted permission to jump into the heart of NYC, is just irritating! The message of "remember 9/11" isn't so bad, even if does show a picture of Mr. Cummings under canopy near the Twin Towers. But the fact that it has been run a second time and the fact that the apparent purpose is not so much to honor the memories of 9/11 as it is to honor Mr. Cummings just makes me queasy. Anyone else get the same feeling from it? I should probably point out that I have no idea if Mr. Cummings has anything at all to do with the ads that are placed for Cummings Rigging Works. So my opinion of the ad is not necessarily an opinion of Mr. Cummings himself. FallRate
  3. This is one of those times when I am grateful I have dial-up. I saw a man with a towel around his waist and nothing else on...I had plenty of time to trun it off before I was to be forever scarred! FallRate
  4. A bit harsh. But it just might do the trick. FallRate
  5. I ordered my container after three jumps. Fliteline was having its 40% off sale which made the cost of a new container about the same as a nice used one. Also, it was obvious to me when I started that finding a nice used container that fit me was going to be hard. I didn't expect to fill out the rig right away, but once I got the container I couldn't stand the empty look of it; it was just depressing.
  6. Bwahahaaa!!! Ahh, very funny.
  7. It may be a little late to enter the fray, but I was thinking... The Golden Knights may have "unfair" advantages but it has not led to unfair competition. The fact that the Knights don't sweep every competition is evidence of that. FallRate
  8. This is a hypothetical scenario, much has been left to the imagination. In my own personal take on this my captors are actually bitter former Playmates who feel cheated for having lost the "Playmate of the Year" title, even after having slept with Hefner! Oh yeah, I can't help but wonder why you would assume all towel headed scumbags are Muslim. FallRate
  9. Don't get taken hostage! Captors are rarely nice people. FallRate
  10. Ok, I'll try to keep my attacks more general...they seem to be more acceptable here. You have said "Americans don't know much", which is fairly general. I will retort: It appears to me that Skydivers from the San Diego area, who work in the tech industry, have a tendency towards arrogance founded on the belief that they are intellectually superior to all other Americans, which is odd considering that their stunted intellectual abilities shine through on every thread. Is that more acceptable? FallRate
  11. And I appreciate that you appreciate that. Thank you for supporting rational discourse.
  12. Hmm? Sinis...nope Cinsis...uhh Cynischism...FUCK!!! FallRate
  13. That is not nearly so sad as those who have ample information yet can't seem to formulate one single coherent opinion. Thankfully Bill, you remind us all of this greater tragedy on a regular basis. FallRate
  14. Yep, you're way off. This was something Powell himself related in a documentary on the Gulf War. I don't really know what Schwarzkopf's feelings were on the subject of halting the drive, but I do know that he was very much desirous of crushing the Republican Guard. But this is not to say that he wanted, or had any intention, to go all the way to Baghdad...he was quite angry with one of his Generals when the General stalled on attacking and allowed a large part of the Republican Guard to withdraw to "safety". The only reason they were really safe was because it was quite clear that an assault on Baghdad (and the toppling of Hussein) was not an aim of the war. (This is not to say that if we got lucky and killed Hussein by way of a bomb, we would have felt we overstepped the true intent of the military actiion.) FallRate
  15. That would be very helpful as I don't have cable TV. But then again, I don't have broadband either...FUCK!!! FallRate

  17. You are obviously a wise and well-adjusted individual...we'll have none of that here!!! FallRate
  18. This is an interesting observation involving Powell's view of war and an assessment of the Gulf War. Powell has claimed in the past that we won the war, clearly. This is interesting considering that the ground offensive ceased after Powell advised President Bush that to go on would appear to be overtly brutal and cruel, and advised the President to call it off. This showed that Powell had a politicians appreciation of public sentiment when overseeing the Gulf War. But as you hint at, if we must once again wage war with Iraq, what exactly was accomplished and how could we possibly have "won" the war? Perhaps Powell is worried that the need for military action now would show that he was quite wrong in proposing a halt to the advance on Baghdad in '91. Or as I have already suggested, perhaps Powell is once again showing a keen appreciation for the power of public support by providing us with a diplomatic gesture which will demonstrate (to those individuals that have had there heads in the sand for the past decade) that Baghdad has no intention of cooperating with the UN resolutions. Just a thought. FallRate
  19. I take offense to that! JJ has never had a hidden agenda. He has never taken any serious steps to cover up his desire to make himself wealthy while doing not a single productive thing! FallRate
  20. And the Decline of Western Civilization goes into overdrive... FallRate
  21. Would you like to buy some swampland, Bill!? FallRate I was going to post something utilizing the words "gullible" and "naive", but then I remembered "no personal attacks".
  22. It was not an objective of the Gulf War to "get" Hussein. Sounds reasonable, but only if you ignore the fact that inspections were attempted for about seven years. Again, it has been tried already and didn't work. I have posted this before and no one responded to it, but the fact is that no new UN resolutions need be passed to justify military action in Iraq. They are in violation of the terms of cease-fire. If the rest of the world wants to sit on their collective asses and ignore this fact, so be it. FallRate
  23. But then there's Seattle. FallRate
