I dont know much about the lawsuit, but in Airtec's Paragear article they say they have patented the concept of cutting the reserve closing loop for AAD deployment. I thought this was the reason they were suing the makers of the Vigil. Can anyone shed some light on this? I didn't think you could sue someone who sold you something for selling to someone else unless there was some contractual agreement. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. how is skydiving not unlike being addicted to crack?
Harksaw replied to Newbie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
skydivetheghetto.com? Man, I was hoping that was a real site. As for the difference between skydiving and crack, skydiving is legal. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait. -
Any reason to get a 'b' license?
Harksaw replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yeah, I just got it for the night jumps. That and the possibility of going to the WFFC though I couldn't make it this year __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait. -
Its replaced by both awareness and fun. For me at about 25 jumps until I was thinking more about the jump than the fear. I know its just different definitions of "scared", but I dont think you have to be "scared" to be mindful of the risks, and I think you can be safer when you arent rigid with fear. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. If someone comes to my home DZ i try to always say hello. If I'm visiting somewhere else, I don't greet everyone new I see as that would be nearly everyone, only response greetings and a possible greeting to groups I see. I think its the duty of the regulars to greet the new people, I hate going to a new DZ and having the awkward time when you try to find someone to jump with or talk to. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Those would be helpful in making it look like there is no reason to bomb it again. Also, if it had been bombed already, all the good stuf is probably already gone. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait.

http://edition.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/europe/10/12/serbia.plane.ap/index.html "A small plane crashed near a wedding party in central Serbia, and local media said it was apparently brought down by celebratory rounds fired by wedding guests. . . . Shootings and fatalities are frequent at Serbian weddings because of the centuries-long tradition of blasting away with firearms in celebration." __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. I was looking around in the Paragear catalong and found beeswax for sale that says its used for rubbing into the lines to keep them from burning. I have talked to some people and no one says they do this, but it sounds like it would be a good idea if it keeps the lines from stretching, making them last longer? Or is this just one of those relics from old parachutes? __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait.

I've been studying for the rigger exam (Long way off) and was wondering, is there anything a master rigger can not do to a rig? Is it true that a master rigger can declare a Cypres that is older than 12 years acceptable to jump? Someone told me that anyone can make a main canopy, without any kind of certificaiton, you could theoretically make one out of your bedsheets but after it was done only a master rigger could repair it. What??? __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait.

The family of the skydiver could know whether there was malice or negligence without a lawsuit. Maybe I'm being naieve, but I think police investigations rarely get false evidence, and the verdicts are decided in court where anything can and does happen. The judge can decide if there is enough evidence for a trial based on the police investigation, and the family of a killed skydiver could make a similar decision on whether or not to sue. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Isnt there normally a police investigation into any death to see if anyone would be at fault, or to find any "malice or negligence?" __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait.

I was watching the new Real TV with some new guy , and it completely stinks! There were videos of KIDS PLAYING IN THE MUD! Really. It was more like America's Funniest Home Videos than Real TV. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait.

I would hate the idea of not having guns, but getting guns involved in the above situation would probably have made it very ugly, because the thugs would most lieky have them too. Although, if they knew he had a gun, they might not have tried it. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait.

And in a Stunning Turn of California Political Events...

Expensive to live in CA? I thought California had the lowest property taxes in the country or something like that. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait.

I know this wasn't your question, but if its an emergency, I sure don't care whose property I land on. Trespassing is the least of worries. if it was private property, i dont think you would be out of responsibility of any trespassing. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Whats inherently wrong with "repression?" Everyone can't get their way. How would you suggest decisions be made? Also, US Citizenship is voluntary. Anyone can leave at any time, just like the USPA __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait. -
I have read some of the warning labels on helmets and they go really far in saying the helmet won't do anything. I think this is mostly for liability and I think they can help you on a tumbling landing just as much as they could a midair collision. Just a personal preference, but I would never jump without one, and I dont think I'd ever use a fraphat. __________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks.
