I knew there was a reason to go to Cross Keys. I'll have to ask for a transfer! YOU ARE HOT! Dom
-
I also learned at a small DZ. 3 182's. When I bought my TRIATHLON 160 I was hot shit. Started JM'ing students on my 100th jump. I was shooting video for tandems about the same time. Every DZ can't be Perris or Eloy. Hell, Perris and Eloy haven't always been what they are now. I think you will find they are not in the twilight zone, but rather you are. Dom

I agree with your last statment. It is just so sad that people can't get along. God, I sound like a commercial! Racism is not just in the south either. I hear the N word at Perris all the time. Usually with the older, shall we say more seasoned jumpers. I just think we should get rid of anything that brings up those times in our past. Not to hide from it but to move past it. Racism = Ignorance. Dom

Boy was he right about you. I'll have to finally get off my butt and go to Elsinore. YOUR'E HOT!!!!!! Dom

LEt me ask you this. What does the confederate flag mean to you? I lived in the south for 4 years and married a women form N.C. I am of mixed race and very light skinned. I had the "pleasure" of hearing what that flag means to many people in the south. The Confederation is dead, racism should be dead. Why keep a flag that reminds people of such an awful time in our country? I think they should let people vote on there flag, but not allow that flag to offend most of the people in the U.S. let alone disgrace our country to the world. Dom

GLAD TO HEAR THAT! To bad I had to see it in here. I only sit 3 ft. away from ya all day. Dom

That is just not true! Here at Perris we have some of the best Swoopers in the world. I won't give names but I don't think any of them use an ASTRA. In fact I'd be willing to bet money that they either jump without a AAD or use a Cypres. I know the school staff use Cypres's and one of them has swooped over 300 ft. in a competion. He can get his Dytter to sound off when he is making his swoop and the Cypres doesn't fire. So much for that argument. Astra's are proven to be less reliable. Why spend your money on something less reliable, therfore less likely to save your life. Dom

How is your body position during deployment? Can you handle the line twists that you are going to encounter? Keep up on your emergency procedures. You may need them sooner than you think. I agree with both the other posts. A Sabre 2 would have been a better choice. Or don't leave the plane on a long spot. Make the pilot go around. It's your ass out there not his. Dom

Wow! They actually have a FLEXON for sale! Seems like they have a lot of used gear. If you are looking for new stuff go to the manufacturers own websites. You can order what you want and they will give you a list of dealers that you can go to. Dom

Yes, Infinity has fixed the things he was talking about. THey used to be made by Northern Lights. Now they are made by Velocity Sports. Kelly is doing a great job there. They are even cheaper then the Wings. They have the same options. The Bling Bling price (all they options) is 1229.25. Dom

I was in your same boat about 8 years ago. I learned how to jump at a small 2 Cessna DZ in Wa. Came to Perris with about 30-40 jumps for the first time. All I can tell you is that you will have friends in know time. Just be outgoing and nice and you should have know problem. PLenty of great jumpers to learn from and hang with. No matter if it is a small DZ or a big one. The one thing that remains the same is that we are all jumpers. Perris and I'm sure Elsinore well fill you in on all the rules and what is expected of jumpers as far as safety goes. No matter which one you choose you will find your spot and you won't regret it. In fact the next time you are at Perris on a weekend, look for me and I'll jump with ya. Just have me paged at manifest and we will have some fun. Welcome! Dom

We will soon see if this is a scam or not. I emailed the company about there system. I asked to see a video of there product in action, with a live body under it of course! I'll let everyone know if they respond and what they say. I also asked about there certs. I bet they don't respond. Dom

What do you look for in a LO
dgskydive replied to Albatross's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I want to defend Chris. I have just recently made my way back to Perris and Chris has been very helpful. He is doing a great job as LO. He really thinks out his dives and did the dives worked! Which is more then can be said for some of the other LO's. He took time to consider the experiance level of the jumpers on the jump and gave everyone a slot that challenged them and made the jump fun. Is it really an lo's job to teach packing? Isn't that a requirment for your A license? If you can't pack, hire a packer. There is no reason why a licensed jumper should not no how to pack. Being able to pack is a different story, (bad back, bad knees). If I want to jump with an LO I want to be able to jump not have to sit around and wait for him to teach a packing class to someone who didn't pay attention the first time he was taught! Let me make sure this point is clear. I'm not talking bad about any of the Lo's at Perris, and they are not in control of each jumpers actions in the air. It is just that Chris really took the time to ask questions and design dives that worked well. And he gave feedback after the jump which, honestly none of the other LO's I have jumped with took the time to do. Dom -
It's always to early for racism! Very bad taste and ignorant! Don't we have enough wrong with this world without stupid ignorance! We will see how pleasent your trip is to Perris next time when I make a bunch of Canadien stereo type jokes about you. How does that sound? On second thought I won't stoop to your level. I'll just smile in your face and laugh behind your back! Dom

Yeah everything was covered. That's what I thought until Kate and B.J. saw it. Dom

If I third that does that mean the motion is passed and he has to attend? BTW Fritz Pfnur is going as well. That should be worth the price of admission just to see Fritz belly flying in a hundred way! Also, Chris I wanted to let you know those jumps last Saturday where great and you did a great job of LO'ing. Especially with Kate on them! I'm sure that was a little nerve racking. ARe you going to be there Saturday for the sunset load? IF you are let me know. I have the big 500 to do that day and if you could put something together I would love it. Dom

You need to move! I'm sure we could get you a place in the ghetto Dom

I work with Lisa, so don't be to jealous. Don't you work at the happiest place on earth? Dom

Help! Is it 5 O'clock yet. Dom

Great answer! I had this same discussion with Tony Domenico just the other day. Learn to fly your canopy to it's limits before you downsize. Take a class from the pro's and you will surprised at what that Spectre will do! Dom

FUNNY INCIDENTS IN FREEFALL.
dgskydive replied to stilettodude's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
One beautiful sunny day we are in a four way star. Everything seems normal until Charlies goggles come off. Having had this happen myself I think nothing of it. Until about two seconds later when we see something else fly off of Charlies face. Still not sure what had just happend, Charlie turns and tracks away high. I'm thinking "hey jerk get back here and finish this skydive, they are not free you know!" Well after we land we realize that it just wasn't the dry eyes Charlie was worried about. He had a glass eye that didn't fit to well. Once the goggles came off, out came his eye! So if you are ever over Sanderson Field in Wa. and get the felling you are being watched don't worry it's just one eyed Charlies other eye. Dom -
Do you have a gear store where you jump? If they sell canopies they should have some for you to jump. Or call the manufacturer. Dom

Perris Valley is the closest to South Los Angeles. Oceanside is farther south then Perris. If you are going to the concert while it is at the Pond in Anahiem then Perris id the closest. Take the 5 Freeway South to the 91 North (riverside) Exit at Van Buren turn right until you reach the 215 head south. Exit at D Street. Go striaght until it dead ends. You will se a sign for the airport, turn left. Turn right at Goetz Rd. The DZ entrance will be on the right hand side about a mile or so up the road. You can't miss it once you turn on Goetz. Just look for the three Twin Otters and the Sky Van. Also by that time of the year you will see part of the Wind Tunnel. Dom

Drug testing for DZ Instructors/TMs/Pilots
dgskydive replied to diverdriver's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Perris Valley also does drug testing for there school staff. Since they get a lot of high profile tandems and aff students, I think it is best choice for them. How bad would it have been if one of the Bush twins had went in on their tandems, and they found drugs in the TM's system. That could have been the end of us all, or at least one of the premier DZ's in the world. Dom
