  1. I have been getting emails from folks about the Cypres 2. I don;t have anymore info about it other then what has already been posted so far. They have sent a new technical guide but it has not arrived yet. Thought is with a box that we got yesterday, but those where just the last of our original Cypres units. As soon as I get the guide I will answer the questions about the batteries. Dom
  2. Check out Diablopilots post in this same forum. He has posted the releas we got from AIRTEC. Something that you may not have known and I didn't mention. The batteries are not for sale. They are sealed in the unit and are only replaced during it's service by the manufacturer. Dom
  3. Once again this is just speculation. But don't think it is the batteries that have changed (except in size). It's the circutry and processors that the unit uses to detect speed and altitude that has gotten more advanced. This allows for smaller longer lasting batteries. When we actually get a new Cypres in our hands I will update it here so we can know for sure. Just from brainstorming with my Tony, we think they may even have triple redundency in the unit itself (once again that is speculation). We will just have to wait and see. Or go to the AIRTEC site and read up on it there. I want to have one in my hands and see what they say in the instructions. If you email me on Monday to remaind me, I will email you some info that we got from Airtec.
  4. I don't think anyone has actually seen a Cypres 2 yet. But they ar shipping now and in a week or so we will see how much smaller the new unit is. It may simply be to small to share the batteries with the old cypress. I don't think it has anything to do with battery technology, but rather the circutry that is envolved that allows for smaller size and less power needed to run the thing. Dom
  5. According to the memo we got from Airtech, and I qoute. "There is never a need to worry about batteries ever by the user or his rigger" The Cypres is 12 years old, and technology has allowed for a smaller unit and less power needed. Dom
  6. Lisa, I do care but I left your cell # at work. You should come by the DZ today I owe you a beer for your b_day.
  7. Lisa, you should have stuck to your rain or shine agenda! THe weather cleared and I made 5 jumps today. They lowered prices to 12.00 per jump. See you in the a.m. Dom
  8. Don't know of I know you our not. But I work wih the BYTCH. It is her birthday on Monday and I am still at the bombshelter at 1:30 am Sun Morning and she still hasn't shown up! Should we worry or just through her in the pool when she finally does how up? Dom
  9. 5:5:7: Five hours we waited for the Cinco De Mayo Boogie to start. 5 jumps it took to nail my sit with a 360 in each direction. 7 hours of drinking at the Bomb Shelter for Jack Gramley's going away party. 1 old girlfriend that I saw after 7 years that grew up onto the woman I always wanted.
  10. Hell if he can't figure out how to zero his ALTI how will he remember something as complicated as that? Dom
  11. Just got a whopper of a question over the phone. A guy calls up (we will leave nameless) and says his new ALTI III shows that he is at 2000 ft. It doesn't have instructions. How do I set at for my DZ? Reply as necessary. Cheap shots are incouraged. Dom
  12. Lisa would be great! Her tribe would never go hungry because she would kill the weak and eat them over rice! Then kill everyone else for eating to much of her food. She would be the only survivor! Plus, she might share some of her millions with me. Dom
  13. That's even better than getting off work and catching the sunset load! It's kind of like self gratification (if you know what I mean)! Stress relief. Dom
  14. WOOOOF! Let's remember that our real missin is to SAVE THE KITTENS! Dom
  15. Wow! I knew there was a reason that my mom moved us out of Piqua when I was a baby. That guy would have probably been my friend and I would hav eburned up with him! Dom
  16. That was definately Claude with the voice box. You can still talk to Claude because his voice box is in the hands of Cruz (also an Air Trash member). They will be having his memorial jump on the 10th of May at about 2:00-2:30 pm. It will be out of a DC-3. I feel very blessed to be fortunate enough to be on the jump. I knew Claude many years ago and was very upset when I made my way back to Perris a few months ago to find him on his death bed. He will be missed and remembered forever! Dom
  17. GULP! That new reality show Mr. Personality. SHHHHHHHHH! Dom
  18. If those are yours, I want to visit your DZ. Do ya flash for beer? Dom
  19. Not that bad. The ghetto in Perris is a small trailer park about 1/4 mile off the DZ where all the skydivers live. Well not all of them, just the diehards. Wow I'm starting to feel really good for some strange reason Dom
  20. There is a whole group of us. Hasn't quite kicked in yet. As soon as it does we are headin for the ghetto. Should only be a half hour more or so. Dom
  21. BUSTED! LOL Seriously, you guys have a good night. Time to ROLL! If ya know what I mean. Dom
  22. She can see it from here. Then I have someone get it for me while I roll it back up Dom
