oh i see the problem. Its not actually a reference to it, or anything like it... but it does include several words which would be in common with such a post. Greenies feel free to remove if they deem it nessasery.

    Friday Funny

Jim decided to propose to Sandy, but prior to her acceptance Sandy had to confess to her man about her childhood illness. She informed Jim that she suffered a disease that left her breasts no larger than those of a 12 year old. He stated that it was OK because he loved her soooo much. However, Jim felt this was also the time for him to open up and admit that he also had a deformity. Jim looked Sandy in the eyes and said . . . "I too have a problem. My penis is the same size as an infant and I hope you could deal with that once we are married." She said, "Yes I will marry you and learn to live with your infant-sized penis." Sandy and Jim got married and they could not wait for the honeymoon. Jim whisked Sandy off to their hotel suite and they started touching, teasing, holding one another . . . As Sandy put her hands in Jim's pants she began to scream and ran out of the room! Jim ran after her to find out what was wrong. She said, "You told me your penis was the size of an infant!" "Yes, it is . . . 8 pounds, 7 ounces, 19 inches long!"
  3. I remember reading of an equation which corrolates air density with relative canopy size. EG at 0ft my canopy is 170 square foot. at 2000ft my canopy flys the same as a 160square foot canopy at 0ft. (figures guessed for the purposes of the example). Can anyone point me to a table/program or post the equation for me? thanks
  4. last I heard they were ripping out all of standard and leaving in First class for traveling. There may be ecconomic reasons why they're going for 60. I remember orriginally it was touted as 100 - 50 per pass. Perhaps they did some sums and figured that it would be cheaper to do 60 in one pass ? Maybe there is some regulation we don't know about that they're working round. But now I'm guessing

I've not been able to find one. The single is due for release any day now in the UK though and it ought to be on the CD so I'd hope it'll be available then.
  6. ha - my bird puts those stats to shame... she puts me to shame - she could fill a balloon. And she's such a little thing.

That has to be like the 6th time thats been posted (I only note as I posted it first - (you all owe me beer)). Im not calling repost as I want as many people as possible to see such an awsome video
  8. If somone is abusing the clasifieds I would hope that anyone who notices highlights it to those who run this site. Fraud of any form sucks. I came across someone trying to defraud people on ebay and told everyone who had auctions he was bidding on, everyone who was bidding on his auctiona and ebay themselves. If we all just minded our own buisness and burried our heads in the sand, crooks would litterally get away with murder every day. If you spot something dodgy - tell people - holler like hell. Its the message you've been getting since you were a kid, and you know what... its the right message.
  9. I have some video of our last years AFF students doing their 8th jump - the hop&pop. Some are truly horrible but one - one guy exits in essntially a dive - head down an all, drops a leg slightly as he's reaching back to pull and in doing so puts a perfect 180 in on the hill so as he dumps he's arched into the relative wind, head high. It looks sooo swish, a real nice manouver - of course it's all totally accidental. We've watched it back on the club DVD so many times, seeing if we can replicate it as perfectly as he did - keep meaning to try it.
  10. anyone else hear baz lurman's sunscreen as you read that? that's nice dude, thanks
  11. You can get the M series batteres on the 101 without the weight increase.... but you lose out on the better lense... for the same weight as the 100 you can get the 120 which gives a better picture res, the M series battery and a bigger lens... but its more money... plusses and minuses to each... the M series battery is a big + over the old S series.

Its what news reports would be like if everyone was Catholic !
  14. Some things to consider in your decision making process. Its acceptable to pull your main at 2k for a C and D license. At that hight in a normal skydive thats about 10 seconds from impact and you are going to cover a large distance during the opening sequence of your canopy. In an aircraft emergency at 2000ft you are 15-20 seconds from impact after you exit. In an aircraft emergency at 1000ft you are closer to the 10 seconds to impact that is acceptable in the SIM (using time as your only indicator). You are also going to cover far less distance during the opening sequence of your canopy as you are traveling much slower to start with. You can use the relative wind to open your canopy relatively quickly straight after exit. If you have a cypres you may want to ensure your canopy will have finished its opening sequence by the time you hit 750ft.
  15. Good idea if it can be done, but I bet not. A: too many variables to measure to accuratly predict "correct" turn hight. If it could be done there goes the pro swoop tour. B: people are actively tryint to come in too close to the ground and accidentaly killing themselves in the process. They're just gonna ignore the light/beep etc. C: if you think you're gonna hit that tree/pilon etc your gonna turn anyway and ignore the light/beep
  16. no chris he died sorry - couldnt resist it edit: (would love to hear the story too)
  17. You might better be able to help if the situation jejejelle is describing from the other thread is more fully described. What happened was there was an aircraft emergency and the pilot ordered everyone off low. Because of the low altitude and loss of an engine the orientation of the plane was of a climbing pass. 10 people got out fine but one person did a poised student style exit and hit their head on the tail precipitating a cypres fire. I think the full question jejejelle is asking is "What would be everyones reccomended exit pos for such a situation? Either for main or reserve?" (sorry jejejelle if Im putting words in your mouth)
  18. mixed but not entirely negative review here re similar camera: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=886338;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
  19. I messed arround with one the other weekend at our AGM. Its a big helmet - but thats good as it means protec style padding and thus safety. It seems nice, looks like it overcomes many of the problems people had with Z1's. I would probably buy one if I was after something to replace my full face but Im in no hurry there. The only thing that really looks a little odd with it is that the visor doesnt come up very far. That would annoy me a little. I'm also not convinced that the ratchet system wouldnt wear out inordinantly fast as it is built into the lens. Ok the working parts would therefore get replaced as often as the lens, but IMO the lens possibly isnt robust enough to take the abuse the ratchet system is gonna get. Maybe. I don't know - someone needs to put a couple of hundred jumps on it to find out. Nice helmet though.
  20. The main body gets there on the 30th March. There are a few stagglers getting in arround the same day as you which we're gonna have to get over to the DZ - maybe pick you up too as the more traveling the cheaper on gas it'll be for all concerned. They're going to be at Perris but the two are close enough. I'll have to check when they're getting in. It may well be there'll be someone wanting a day trip to LA anyway after a week at the DZ.
