Ok - now first off, I apologise for posting such a disgusting question so please take this with the degree of humour, and genuine sociological interests with which it is posed. My friends and I (purely out of a desire to better understand human nature of course) had a discussion the other day about sexual standards and I hit upon the disturbing conceptual question of "what if you only had one, basal standard". After all, there do appear to be groups of people who have such unnerving "tastes". As disgusting as the concept may seem, the discussion soon developed into an in-depth intellectual debate. With only a few people present a straw poll amongst my friends was of little indicative value, especially as those present simply couldn't decide which was more repulsive. As such, I felt it worthy of further canvassing of opinion and therefore seek your input. Please don't cause this thread to degenerate into something puerile. This is posted because I consider it to be a genuine sociological question. So... if you had to... which would you pick as your only sexual standard? (Moderators, please feel free to delete this thread if it is deemed to transcend the morals required of this forum; I recognise it may be considered questionably close to the boundary).

Bigot = One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ. I am not going to specify who I think is a bigot - that would be a personal attack and as such would not be permitted under the forum rules.
-
There is some extraordinary bigotry going on in here.

Yeah - so many answers have to be prefaced with "where are you" or "depends where you are" because people still don't fill in any info on thier profile... Who's gonna be worried if their ID automatically includes their home country.

Who 'deserves' an ash release dive ?
mr2mk1g replied to metalslug's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
I like the idea of being packaged up in matchboxes and posted off for one last jump at every DZ I've been to. Why the hell shouldn't your gran end up at 13k... just because she's taken there by skydivers doesnt mean she has to have been one. -
African or European? Anyone know if this book is gonna be on sale in gear shops and which ones? I'm thinking picking it up when I'm in Perris will be easier than having it shipped...

advice for someone with darth vader's helmet...
mr2mk1g replied to PackerBarry's topic in Safety and Training
This is why in the UK you cannot wear a full face helmet till you have B license (50 jumps and an accuracy qualification). Most modern full face helmets do allow good viability of the handles so the rule often seems obsolete, but I think there are still some which truly do explain its continued application. -
They list 3-4 weeks. I ordered a pair of pants last year (middle of season) and they arrived on my door step the day before the 3 weeks was up. My friends and I currently have an order in with them for 7 suits. The 3 weeks is up on Friday - I'll let you know when they arrive.

Who's going to Aerograd (Russia) this summer?
mr2mk1g replied to vonSanta's topic in Events & Places to Jump
My housemate and I would love to go out there for his 25th b-day in June... just trying to find cheap flights and think about Visa's. Anyone know how to get there on a budget? -
I love the fact that the makers are so pissing dumb they show a Japanese flag when the US shoots at the Chinese! (appologies if the audio explanes the error - I have no sound at work)

looking at the anodized nozle thingy i'd say: "Blue-tit". Or for comedy purposes the: "Runlikefuck She's Gonna Blow (R-SGB)"

Well in this instance it really can be said to be Britain’s business. It’s a pity this government has not taken a firmer stance on the issue now and in the past before things deteriorated into the current sorry state. Its nothing to do with the US and should remain so.

The state of affaires in Zimbabwe saddens me greatly. A good nation has been destroyed by a tyrannical dictator with no respect for the rule of law. He has set up a private army who carry out his edicts irrespective of the courts who have ruled them to be illegal. The legal institutions of the country continue to rule his actions unlawful despite the fact that as soon as a judge does so he “disappears” or is just plane executed. Hundreds of ex-pats live there and have had their land and their property stolen from them by armed gangs who rape and murder. I am surprised the western nations feel so happy about ignoring what is going on under Mugabe.

I'm not sure which way round "lines down" and "bottom of the container" are ment to mean, but the Wings manual states you can close the container either way.

I'd say don't go too mad with your time in there, and watch what new positions you mess with and the stress they put on your joints. A good friend of mine spent about an hour in sit in the tunnel at Perris over Christmas. When I met him toward the end of January his shoulder was still so f$*ked that he had dificulty shaking my hand. He'd screwed with a ligament or nerve or something (I forget exatly what) as a direct result of overdoing it in the tunnel and was out having physio to correct the problem. His shoulder's completely grounded him (irrespective of the crappy weather) - I still don't know if he's ok yet.

Most kill lines have a check window in them close to the main pin to enable you to varify that it is cocked when you close the container. Just have someone check the window is the appropriate colour when you get a pin check.

If God kills a kitten everytime someone has a wank.... what does God do everytime someon kills a kitten???

Sorry, I do mind the correction. I was reading it stright out of the book written about the incident. The story is correct and varified by the RAF at the time. Please look again - this incident happend on the night of the 24th-25th March 1944 - nothing to do with anything that happend on the 13th June. I'm sure there was far more than once instance of a tail gunner's chute catching fire.... millions of sorties were flown - many of which involving the tail gunner shooting down a JU88... or was Pat the only one?

Yeah that was the guy in my great-uncle's squadron. I have the details in a book of my great-uncle's. His name was Sgt. Nicholas Alkemade #1431537 RAF. He fell from 18,000ft without a parachute and hit at a reported 122mph. He fell through dense fir trees and landed in a deap snow bank. There are photos of letter signed contemporainiously by a group of witnesses, a photo of Alkemade and a shot of the landing area in the book which I can post if anyone's really interested (just say... even if it does mean me getting out my camera cos I can't be arsed to make the scanner work). He jumped without his rig because he was the tail gunner in a Lancaster. There was no room to wear it so it sat in a compartment just behind the gun turret. The bomber caught fire when it was hit by a JU88 night fighter (which he subsequently shot down) whilst over the Ruhr during an operation on Berlin on the night of 24-25th March 1944. When Aklemade swung the turret round to get his chute, it was already on fire. He was therefore faced with the simple choice of buring to death on the plane or a crash course in solo AFF... luckily he chose the latter. When he came too he lit a cigarette and started blowing on his rescue wistle. It was 3.20 - the bomber had been attacked at about midnight. He was quickly picked up by some german soldiers. He had lost his flight boots and his clothes were scorched. He sustained the following injuries: burnt legs, twisted right knee, a deep splinter wound in his right thigh, strained back, slight concussion and a deep scalp wound, fist - seccond - third degree burns on face and hands. He attributes most of these to before departing the aircraft. He spent the rest of the war in Dulag-Luft and was liberated in May 1945. He was only 21.

Even if its fresh its going to be like concrete. The faster you try to move through a liquid the more it resists. Hitting water at 120 is just as lethal as hitting the earth.

HH has been fiddling with the script a little this avo.

Save or borrow then do. Don't try it ad-hock, it won't be nearly as cost effective as you will fail levels and have to re-do them at cost. If you live at the DZ for a week you can get your whole progression done in one go and are much more likly to pass everything first go.
