    Two things, the deployment device of a round canopy is to stage deployment and reduce snatch force. Rounds have an inherent malfunction rate. It has to do with loading the lines at a different time. Unless you can load all the lines at the same time a round wants to invert. Ram air canopies have a 99.9% reliability rate. The data to support this is at China Lake. There is a "man-capable reserve" that uses a slider. It is called the Thin Pack or Dura Pack. It is manufactured by Simula and was developed for the Navy to replace their air crew systems. It was TSO'ed under TSO-C23c and I did the live test jumps on it.     Jan, There are women taking an active role in producing this calendar that have gone through these"these life-altering changes". And they may be "mad as hell about what has happened to them". But then I have no idea how they fell and neither do you. You can't speak for these women anymore than I can. In fact, as a cancer survivor, I may be able to speak for them where you can't. No one is trying to degrade or belittle women, hell this whole project is being produced and directed by women for the benefit of women. Please give it a chance, you may be surprised.     I think I'll call regular rubber bands plain ol bag lock bands....as those are the only things I saw cause a bag lock.... In 28+ years I have yet to see a bag log caused by stow bands. A hand deploy P/C produces over 100 pounds of drag. Take any type of stow band you want, double it and see if you can pick up 100 pounds with it. As Cliff posted, your reserve has locking stows made of 1/8" shock cord. Any bag lock I have seen was caused by the lines looping around the bag or a remaining stow.     then the container either A: was so old that the label came off which voids the TSO B: had the label cut off, which also voids the TSO C: never had a label so was never TSO'd or it does have the label but isnt smacking you in the face The orange label is not a TSO label, it is a warning label developed by PIA.     Go to "Logbook Del" and press and hold "mode". While holding "mode", press "set" and keep it pressed while the display counts down form "500" to "0". 2 beeps will sound when the unit has deleted the logbook. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

    Just out of interest, what proportion of the ripcords you make fail the test and get binned. Is this a common tests for manufacturers to do, or is my next rig going to be a vector TSO-C23d (AS8015B) require that every reserve activation devise (ripcord) be tested to this standard.
