Draw and conclusions you want. It is obvious you feel you are able to drink and drive. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

When I worked for AERO I designed and had built a metal test dummy. It could be weighted up from 150 lb. to over 400 lb. I took them down to a body shop and had them coated with "Rhino Lining”. The same stuff the coat P/U truck beds. They worked great. I have the original drawing around somewhere. Even sold 2 of them to a certain Navy group that works on the east coast. If you got the pin in without the use of tools, even a worn out PC will pull the pin. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Do you know of any injuries or deaths caused by rigging errors or mistakes made by instructors? If so you should be willing to share with us or you are part of the secrecy conspiracy you keep refereeing to. Since you have been at it for over 20 years, what part of skydiving do you like. Bill Booth, I've got a question for you!
mjosparky replied to josheezammit's topic in Gear and Rigging
The curved pin is the invention of Hank Asciutto, owner of Para Innovators and Dennis Trepenier. The first coated cable pin I saw was made by Leo Orlowski at Elsinore. Everyone called it the “Polish” pin. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Two things happen when you pull down on the rear risers. First you move the apex vent off center increasing the drag coefficient a little which will slow the decent rate. Second you lower the rear of the canopy skirt in relation to the front skirt and this will reduce forward drive. If timed right at landing you will land softer with less forward speed. Results vary with canopy design. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

In 2004, 39% of all traffic fatalities were found to be alcohol related. That’s 16,600 people dead because someone felt they could drink and drive. The affects of alcohol are like the affects of hypoxia, hard for the one affected to notice the difference. It has been proven in test after test that one drink will reduce your ability to make decisions quickly or at all for that matter. It is hard to believe there are still people so cavalier about getting in a 2 or 3 thousand pound vehicle after having “a couple of beers” and point it at others. You are betting you can pull it off. The problem is you are betting with other peoples lives. Sparky http://www.alcoholalert.com/drunk-driving-statistics.html My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Plates and screws: Leave them in or get them out?
mjosparky replied to MooChooser's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There is a big difference between having a plate and having a rod. One is on the outside of the bone and the other is inside the bone. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

I don't think it is a good idea to do maintenance in the air when you are supposed to be paying attention to flying. Untwist on the ground. I agree, Never attempt to do rigging in the air. Period. If you canopy needs maintenance of any kind do it on the ground before you jump it. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

You say you are a pilot. If that same PT-6 was operated under Part 135 would it be the same? Do you get your flight phys. on time, do you get your bi-anual in time and do you have your reserve repacked on tiem? You sound like a scool teacher! You sound like a new jumper whining about something just to whine. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I am not sure what you are saying or responding to. But that’s ok. If the actions of a skydiver fit the definition “A hero is someone who does what needs to be done, when it needs to be done without thought of consequence to themselves” I would say they are a Hero. But just being a skydiver does not meet this definition. jmo Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
