My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
-
The last one I saw was on a ParaFoil 252, installed in a new Wonderhog and using the standard RWS throw-out pilot chute. Mark I think you are right, Foils were the only canopies I have ever seen use the set up. The one you describe above sounds scarey. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

The MC-4/MC-5 is a container system. The MT1-X/MT1-S are canopies used in both new and older systems. The MT1-X is a 370 sq. ft. 7 cell and the MT1-S is a 270 sq. ft. 5 cell. The hole near the base of the pilot chute is for the closing loop to pass through the pilot chute on a one pin system. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

If the container is black or gray it was made for Navy Spec. Opps. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I don't believe it is used on any current manufactured canopy. Like the "ropes and ring" it used a standard pilot chute, spring type, and it was very bulky. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Doesn't that make you feel GREAT. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I have got a lot more jumpsuits then I do femurs. And I have had to wash out grass stains more than once but have never had a femur go in. Can you say PLF? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

You are right, that did happen. And to this day I can't understand how you can climb on a plane and forget to take your rig. And no one on the plane even noticed. Sad. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Would this be a good place to use the term "perponderance of evidence"?

Its Michael Owens, not Mike. And you knock the chip off and I would be glad to jump with you. I do not freefly so you will have to give me some pointers. -
>>I've never heard of a 'spider slider', how does that work? It is a method of Pilot chute controlled reefing. Pilot chute is attached to a slider, see attachment, by a long line that runs through the top and bottom skin of the canopy. When packing the line is pulled up through the canopy pulling the slider up to the stops. When you deploy the pull on the P/C is greater the faster you are going. As you slow down the P/C allows the slider to come down. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Punk kid, I've got underwear older than that. -
If you can post a couple of pictures it would help. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

But then again there is no such thing as a MIL-Spec. stow band. They were canceled by Natick. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

For those that are curious as to what a MIL-Spec stow band in, I scanned in 5 pages out of a total of 12 that make up MIL-R-1832D. (stow bands) There are some screw ups from the text bridge from scanner to word doc. But I think you get the idea. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I have never seen it on a MT1-X canopy, but what you are describing sounds like the set up for pilot chute reefed slider. The 5 cell canopies are MT1-S and they are 270 sq. ft. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Pilot chute controlled "spider slider". The faster you are moving the slower the canopy opens. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

If you don't deploy a landable canopy, how are you going to"land the canopy safely"? I have seen it tried and it doesn't work for shit. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Try this chart. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
-
The opening time of a canopy is dependent on the size and design of the slider and the fill time of the canopy. Fill time can be altered by packing but not much. It is mainly dependent on size and design. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Part of the reason for the cutaways was the line running outside of the slider grommet. I jumped a setup similar to that for a couple of years. I had a halyard running from a center D line down to the speed link. I would carry the flag in a fanny pack around my waist. After opening I would run the flag up with the halyard. If I didn’t run the halyard through the grommet I would have a slider hang up every time. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Now would that be "Nova" the canopy or "Nova" the cantainer system? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

It doesn't feel good when someone belittles you on the net does it? Remember that the next time you feel the urge to do it to someone else.
