Forward speed does nothing to generate lift, airspeed generates lift. This has been discussed many times here, even within the last week. So, I'm watching an old episode of Cops, and there's this lady on here who flagged down the police to help her get a refund on a drug deal gone bad. She tried to buy crack and the dealer gave her a piece of plaster. Why? Lots of canopies probably flare better than the Manta. Once you're off AFF you'll have the opportunity to demo quite a few of them. Make your canopy decision after, and only after, you've demoed everything you can. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

CK does charge an annual fee. I don't mind paying it though. We've got great facilities, pizza on Saturday, the Tiki bar, the deck, an amazing fleet of aircraft, cheap jumps, nice showers (nicer than a lot I've seen)... I could go on. Anyhow, the fee is $15.00 a year and goes to pay for all of the nice extras that you don't find at a lot of other DZs. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Apparently it wasn't just a surprise to the soldiers. I heard on the news today that some members of the Secret Service didn't know he was going either.
