  1. Spam Bayes doesn't reject a single email, instead it filters suspect emails to separate folders, at least when run with the Outlook client. When run on the server side it simply adds an extended header (X-Spam-Bayes) with a score. When run on the server side the boss is free to setup client side rules to filter the spam to a separate mail box. Spam Assassin, on the server side, does something similar. This is an interesting article on how to handle spam in today's world. By the way, I'm fighting a similar battle at work right now. The bosses are fed up with spam, yet they'll have my head if I block any legitimate messages. That's why we're investigating Spam Assassin. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 2. Or, instead of playing that game, I think it's pretty easy to use Spam Bayes on the client side. Since I've been using this at the office I've gone from 60 - 80 spams per day to probably 2 or 3 per week that I actually see. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 3. Hell, you'll be so amped after your first cutaway that you probably won't care much about one more jump to the A. Reserve rides are fun. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  4. Check the default route, is it correct? (I suppose it should be if DHCP is setup correctly) - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  5. Hook did an experiment a while back where he tried to cut the offending line on an intentional lineover on a fairly large and docile canopy, I believe. If I'm not mistaken, he ended up cutting away the malfunctioning canopy and never did manage to cut the offending line. It's written up here somewhere. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  6. Agreed. I've been leaving 6 to 8 feet of unstowed line lately (maybe more) and my openings are just fine. I've also stowed just the locking stows and had great openings. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  7. Jump numbers certainly figure into the equation, but they aren't everything. Bill has provided a nice checklist to measure critical skills. I've seen people with thousands of jumps who couldn't complete Bill's list, and I've seen people with a surprisingly low number of jumps who could. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 12. The problem, Andy, with jumpers who don't have a lot of experience is that they tend to not know when they might be getting in over their head. It's nice that the people on your tracking dive had thousands of jumps, that doesn't make it safe for you, or any other lowtimer, for that matter. The problem with not having the experience is that lowtimers are easily convinced when someone with more jumps than them speaks. The experience to know better usually comes after hundreds, if not thousands, of successful skydives. Stay safe. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  16. Yeah, I read about half of it before quitting. It's garbage. I don't know why some people think that international politics can be summed up in simple stories. It's either an insult to the reader, or proof that the author really doesn't understand the subject matter. I don't, unfortunately. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 18. I watched a friend land under a Raven 150 @ 1:1, it collapsed, fortunately for her she was only inches off the ground. It scared her though. I've got two rides on a Raven II, I've never had the thing collapse, quite the opposite, that canopy seems to have almost no flare, and a built in left hand turn. I'm alive today because of my Raven but I've got a PD reserve sitting in my living room waiting for my new container. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  19. Great news that they got him. I'm really curiuos to see the effect this has on the Iraqi people. It is my understanding that a great many of them live in fear of his return. I wonder how this will change their attitudes, or their outlook on life. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

    Homemade Beer

They most certainly will mellow with age. I tried the Anchor Holiday Cheer last year when it first came out and thought it was pretty bad. A few months later and it had mellowed and melded and was just amazing. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

    Popups

I second the recommendation for http://www.panicware.com/ I've got Pop-Up Stopper Pro and it works perfectly. Absolutely perfect. I haven't tried them, but http://download.cnet.com/ has quite a few pop up stoppers for download, as well. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

ha! Right on. How's it taste, well the wort anyway? I've never made a spiced ale, I'm skeered! - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  24. When do you consider a reserve to be overloaded? Is it when the suspended weight is greater than the max suggested weight of the manufacturer? Or is it when the suspended weight is greater than the weight that the reserve is TSOd to? I'm not a rigger, but the way I understand it is that one might cause a less than optimal landing, the other might destroy the canopy on opening. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends.
