What does your chest strap look like after opening?
Jimbo replied to rocketfeuille's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Mine looks just like it did when I left the plane. After opening though I loosen it to the stop. Currently jumping a Jav, hopefully I'll be jumping an Infinity in a few weeks. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
I think that his decision wasn't based on greed, but rather on a decent sense of right and wrong. There's more to life than the almighty $$$. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

While perusing the pages of Bored.com last night I cam across this little gem. It's the story of a man who deposited a fake check into the ATM. It's old, probably from around '95 or so, but a good read for rainy days. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I've seen whuffos go up after completing the normal DZ waiver. Maybe that would cut it where you are. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Gods and Clods, Bill. Gods and Clods. I thought you knew that. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

That line is sickening. That may be true, but I don't know enough about the case to say. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I chose "I don't have no stinkin' limit. I don't come to the DZ with a windmeter and I rarely bother to check the one that they have. The decision to jump, or not to jump is usually made by evaluating the winds, what canopies in the air are doing, who's on the ground, and most importantly how I feel that day. I've jumped in some pretty strong winds and felt safe, I've jumped in lighter winds and felt scared. I don't have a simple rule that if the winds are X that I'm not jumping. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I'd have stopped everything I was doing, dropped to my knees, and prayed for world peace. That's what I would have done. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I certainly don't have a problem with that, but that's a decision and implementation best left to the individual countries, don't you think? Take for example a .porn domain. It's unrealistic, I think, to ask to restructure the entire internet. What is realistic is for Iran to invest in the technology to filter based on content, location, etc... I just don't see where the UN would fit into this. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Be honest, it was the coloring book that you liked best, wasn't it? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Should we put any blame on the suspect for allowing the assault to continue for 10 minutes? After all, he could (a) not hit the police officer, and (b) complied with their orders. Both would have avoided the confrontation. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

You don't know how much the baton assault contributed to his death, do you? Other "heavy contributors" to his death could have been the PCP, the coke, and his enlarged heart. If you actually take the time to think about this, it seems far more likely that he died as a result of the physical stress brought on by the PCP, coke, and physical activity and an enlarged heart that couldn't handle it. It's seems unlikely that he died from a few baton blows to the legs and back. Don't you think? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

If you don't like it then do something about it. Political activism, R&D, offering your time to train the police with new more effective methods, they are all things that you CAN do to change the current state. Like I said before, sit up there on your throne and criticise, it's easy. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Given this guys size, combative nature, and intoxication level, I think it's something of a surprise that the police didn't shoot him. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

At what point did you tell us what you would have done in the situation? Point it out to me, I must have missed it. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

You still haven't answered the question. *sigh* It's easy to sit up there on your throne and criticize, isn't it? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I did, you still haven't answered the question, you've only stated that you don't get paid to figure out the perfect solution. I pose the original question one last time, what would you have done? If you can't supply an answer to the question then I'll have to assume that you would have done nothing differently. How will you respond if the investigation concludes that the police officers did everything by the book, that excessive force was not used? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. PhillyKev originally asked the question here, you still haven't provided an answer. What would you have done? We already know what the police did, and we know that you disagree with their methods. Again, what would you have done? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Not entirely accurate. The photos are real. Someone tried to pass them off as shots of hurricane Isabel, they are not. AlanaB has correctly identified the photo as Cyclone Graham. http://www.snopes.com/photos/isabel.asp Alana, those are amazing picsm really. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. Better penetration-er...in high winds...?

Slightly off topic for the forum, but what the hell. Using the (pre) (/pre) tags will keep the text formatting. Line item 5 Line item 4 Line item 3 Line item ... - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
IMHO, the public deserves exactly what it has now. It was the public that was yelling and screaming for the immediate release of the Neptune once word of its existance was leaked. Beta testers? Maybe, but it was the public who demanded the release of a not-ready-for-primetime product. Kwitcherbitchen. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

The other jumper knows not what he is talking about. There's nothing wrong with a Racer. To respond to Randy's post: A rigging mistake could result in a Cypres fire, or worse, on ANY and EVERY rig. Don't let that scare you away. You should however check with your rigger before you buy any rig. If he can't pack it it won't be of much use to you. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
