As long as we're stirring up the shit with all the political threads, I thought it might be fun to throw this one in the mix. Shoshana Johnson, the other female U.S. POW of the Iraq war, is slated to receive a far smaller disability pension than that granted Jessica Lynch. Now, I've never understood why we made a hero out of a woman who got lost and captured in the war in Iraq, but for her (Jessica) to receive higher disability payments than the other soldiers who suffered with her, for ANY reason just doesn't seem right to me. The true heros, I think, are those who saved those who were captured, why don't we hear anything about them? Why don't we hear anything about the others who were captured and rescued? Yes. It makes them not ready for a smaller canopy. If you can't land your big canopy where you want to, how are you going to land a smaller, faster canopy where you NEED to? Does you insurance cover your gear if you lose it during a cutaway or if it is damaged while skydiving, or does the coverage only apply to theft from your apartment/car, fire, etc? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Think someday though about the profit margins for anyone involved on the selling end of this sport. $2100.00, for a freefly suit? I hope you're not comparing the cost of a FF suit to the costs of R&D, materials, quality control, and sewing of a canopy or container. You're not trying to make that leap, are you? For what it's worth, I would suggest that until you've tried to cut and sew your own fabric into something meaningful that you not be so quick as to discount the cost, or value or labor. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends.
