Some of the people living in trailers at the DZ have more than you and I could ever imagine. I can think of worse problems. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

How to get in touch with Icarus???

Interesting, is Rob still there? I thought he took care of the demo stuff. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
Small or aggressive canopy, no experience, grounded.

Why did you need a guide before you would ground him? That doesn't make any sense to me, none at all. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -

OK, in fairness to Icarus, the last two days were Saturday and Sunday. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -

I hate to get off track here, but really, the entire dropzone should be ashamed that this happened. Absolutely ashamed. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -

My Alti-3 has been through hell and back and works just fine. The company has top-notch customer service, and is located here in the US - something you'll appreciate if you ever need to send it in for service. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Roll with that and you'll be just fine. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Unless you're screwing the DZOs wife, you'll be just fine. My first hop and pop was from 4500 and I manged to leave unstable, flip onto my back, get stable again, and have an open parachute at a little under 4,000 ft. It's easy, really. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

No one expects you to know to the second what your freefall time was. The ProTrack is a fine device, I'm sure the Neptune is also. However, you're ready for neither. The school should provide you with the equipment necessary to complete your training. Deal with AFF now, buy fancy gadgets later. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. Are you prepared to do it, prepared to pull the trigger and watch a man die in front of you? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I would never imagine that such a chart implied that a particular wingloading was safe, only that that was the maximum wingloading that the DZ would allow somone to jump. I just don't see the connection to wingload X means you'll never get hurt. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. Toledo is/was famous for the Mud Hens (minor league baseball) and Tony Packos, Jamie Farr (Who made sure, while performing on M*A*S*H, that Toledo would become famous for Tony Packos and the Mud Hens), Katie Holmes, and I suppose at one time, glass. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. I'm curious, has anyone ever been to a DZ and been told that you can not jump the canopy in your container because it is beyond your skill level, too high a wingload, etc.. etc.. etc.. Ever been around and seen it happen? How did you deal with it? How did the DZ approach what has to be a delicate situation? If you saw it happen, what was your impression regarding both sides of the conversation? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
How could one not lust for the beautiful Nichole? Really I just haven't seen her in a while and it's fun to hang out with her, she's fun. (and I'm hoping she'll have some Vernors for me.) - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Agreed. I should have been a bit more precise with my post and said something to the effect of "The RSL, when properly assembled and maintained, is designed not to activate until the last riser has left the container". The RSL is only one part in a larger system (the entire rig) and proper assembly and maintenance, of course, includes things such as correctly sized cutaway cables, well maintained risers, etc... - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. The RSL is designed not to activate until the last riser has left the container. Yes. I imagine that they have. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
