Sorry. None of the above. Perhaps this was also purchased in Hawaii? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Might have been. You could close it and it'd play, but it would play when open as well. Tried to find a picture of it on-line but was unsuccessful. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
OMG, found something else that my sister had! You see, you squeezed this goo stuff into 'cooking plates', then put them in a 'cooking pan' and watched the stuff boil! You check their doneness while poking them with a wire and when finished you carefully removed the plate from the pan and dunked them in water. Made for hours of fun! Gigglers! Better than rocks and sticks! (have fun!...this thread is just a small diversion from this CA governor's race thats gone all to hell...) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Got to thinking about the funny (and now perhaps collectible) toys we use to own as kids... Found this one from my childhood! Probably not worth that $million$ some other have in their stash, but fun just the same!

Guess I had the 'low class' version of a turntable, then. My record player (when I was 5 or so) was a white plastic 'briefcase' like player that you opened up to put the 45's on. I remember the inside color of the 'unit' was orange! Wow, what memories from childhood you just brought up there, mouth! (I was feeling a bit old due to hanging out with the POPS crowd this weekend...). btw, my favorite record to listen to on that player was 'Winnie the Pooh'! Wonder if I still have that record around here somewhere... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
While I agree that unfortunate things -do- happen in this sport (and stick around for many more years and you'll see more than you ever want to), being prepared in both education on the ground -and- in the air, is of -primary- importance. The risk here is that young "teenage" skydivers think that they 'know it all' and put themselves at risk, and in places that they never should be. We've all done it in our growing up years (look back at some of the shit we did as teenagers in high school and I think you'll remember). We thought our parents were morons and that we knew what life was all about. Well, looking back (now) we realize that perhaps 'dad' wasn't all that stupid. He actually HAD lived life and figured it out. We would have been much wiser young adults if we had sat down at his knee and learned what he already knew. Instead of running off and getting into a shit load of trouble on our own. While, this probably didn't get us killed (this running off 1/2 cocked in our youth), it COULD get you killed in this sport. PLEASE be patient with adding camera to your set-up. There is MUCHO time to do this in the future. What is the need to rush it?! Develop yourself. Enjoy the learning curve. Don't box yourself in and perhaps put yourself in a corner that you can't dig yourself out of. Putting others at risk, not only yourself. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

You're from Skydive AZ, right? I'm sure you know Brent Finley. I'm sure he'd be willing to sit down and chat over a cold one at the end of the day. He's, like, an encyclopedia of information on the subject. Blues, ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

My first video camera was a Sony digital8. It's worked fine for tandems, but no matter how much I gaff taped it up it still had tape flutter with any shooting from above (like in 4-way team video). I kept it for less than 6 months then opted to shell out the dough for a digital camera instead. So, depends what you want to use it for. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I'm speechless, Arthur. (something that doesn't happen very often). Thanks for sharing. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
The sound is freakin' awesome! I have a friend in Palm Springs who has designed his entire livingroom around his sound system with DVD-audio. Speakers are set at strategic places around (above and below) the room. It's like you're sitting in the middle of the orchestra pit, with every instrument with it's own broadcast route! I mean, the horns on one side, the clarinets on the other, the drums behind, and the oboes to the front. (yeah, I played in our University orchestra for 4 years, and high school for the 4 before that....so kill me ). I'm sure that any concert would sound and feel just as incredible. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Welcome back, Wendy! So, how'd the first day at POPS go today?! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Well, yeah, that sort of makes sense and I was even going to make a comment about that, but since they take in folks of all faiths, they do have other things on the menu too don't they? What does faith have to do with it? (unless you have to have ALOT more faith to eat the flesh of other animals and still be healthy! ). No, seriously, they do have meat for those who want it (in-house), but the cafeteria for the 'wuffos' doesn't have it on the menu. So, if you want meat deluxe, you have to be a member of the patient club. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Thanks, Trish! I stopped by to visit with Eric tonight on my way home from work. He was busy eating some Mexican food his dad brought him from a good place in Riverside. Eric was very busy enjoying every bit of it! Eric looks great! A bit thin still, but he assured me that this was only temporary. His appetite is very good now. His rehab is only just started, but I can see him learning new things every day. Right now it's still beautiful yellow gowns for the party, so no gym time yet. Hope that gets cleared up soon. Gonna swing by a bit tomorrow before the weekend. I'll pick up something from you list if he'd like it. The food on his hospital tray look absolutely delicious, but abet still veggie. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Fantastic News! Looks like my ride home from work will swing by the 215-10 route now! Any suggestions on what's Eric's favorite food?? (ya know that LLUMC's main menu is vegetarian don't you! ) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Stowing Excess Brakeline on Sun Path (Javelin) No Velcro Toggles
ltdiver replied to quade's topic in Photography and Video
I've had that happen before as well, PhreeZone! My excess brake line came unstowed from the velcro wrap and when I released the brake the line wrapped around my index finger! Luckily I was not jumping a high performance canopy and was able to sit in the harness to keep the canopy flying level while I unhooked my finger with my free hand. Yeah, it hurt, and I'm that much more careful when unstowing brake lines now. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Used to be one of my favorite "experiments" on dates. The WintOgreen Lifesavers -must- be fresh in order for it to work. More HERE. Also works very well with wintergreen Altoids. Works even better if you have metal fillings in or caps on your teeth, huh!

Decided that if that was the information he wanted to give, I'd act on that and not give a damn what the real truth was. Took the burden completely off of me and damned him if that was the game he wanted to play. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

We must have the same ex! Yes. Just as any other habit, it becomes easier (and more excusable in their minds) each time the step is taken. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
