Yep, titanium in my skull, but not from skydiving. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Came across this little gem today. Not a mom here, but sure heard all of these as a kid growing up! I think it must be written down somewhere, as almost all moms have these exact same set of rules. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYukEAmoMCQ ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Dana is always inspirational. I keep his profile handy to share with some of my amputee patients and every time it lifts them up and lets them know life really isn't over. What I found interesting in this current article: Dana's new goal is to break Kittenger's record? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Agreed. One of my favorite scenes in a movie, that paints the poetic picture of trust and growth occurring at the same time, is the island scene of Alec and The Black in "The Black Stallion". You don't even realize there is absolutely no verbal dialogue for more than 20 minutes until the next word is spoken. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDuKpAseP6k&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1ihzkEFwqE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG_di8VNcrY&NR=1 ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I love BevMo, they have everything! A toast to you too.

Found a nice new pinot at BevMo last week. Joseph Drouhim Bourgongne Pinot Noir Opened it just tonight. VERY nice and light. Fruity. A little dry. Refreshing. I recommend it. A toast to a very nice day. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Okay, so the headline touts the merits of Blue M&M's, but it's the BBG dye in them that seems to do the trick. Also in Gatorade! Wonder if this finding will translate from laboratory mouse to human, or are we being lead down the primrose path again? The product is "NOCO" http://www.noco-usa.com battery corrosion preventative. I order it for our shop by the case (part number A202). Mystery solved! Thanks!

So, it -was- the battery failing. Warranty pro-rated and a new battery for only $40. As for the red liquid on the terminals? Goodyear Tire put it on (they sometimes do some minor work on my car). It's a battery acid inhibitor and terminal protector. They called it something like "Nocor". Or "No Corrosion", I'm thinking. The only thing on-line I could find was a product called CorrosionX. It's getting rave reviews on other news groups. Or something like THIS (hey, at least it admits to being red!) Anyway, questions answered. Car running healthy now.
-
Yeah, I'm taking the car to my mechanic after work today for a diagnosis. Especially because of the red liquid on the terminals. I'm sure I'll learn something from them that I can impart here. Just hope the car starts this morning. Threw my jumper cables and tool box in the trunk in case it fails when I try to leave work . . . btw, I found the receipt for the battery. Bought in September '07. Still under warranty, so it should be cheap to replace (if that is the problem). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

So, my car started acting up today. Not sure if it's battery, alternator, or starter yet. Car starts, but isn't instant like it usually is. It hesitates, then turns over. (Just started this afternoon). Also, at stop lights the Air Conditioning slows dramatically (which it never does). Opened the hood when I got home and discovered a red liquid covering the battery terminals, and a bit on the other side of the battery as well (on the top). It's viscous and bright in color. My first thought was battery leakage! But battery acid is white. Got on the internet and discovered it -might- be something called "Permatex Battery Sealer"? Has anyone worked with this before? Is it red? Does it stay liquid on the terminals? Last place I had my oil changed was at a Shell oil change station. Could they have put this on without telling me? It's the first time I've ever seen this. And if it's NOT the sealer, then what the heck is it? Diagnosis of the electrical problem would be appreciated as well. I can change a battery no problem, but the starter or alternator may take a little more time. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

at your weather fortune. Just stepped in for a 'cool-down' from setting up a drip system for my garden. Whew, this 80 degrees feels nice!
-
Thankfully it is the OLD galvanized, which is WAY better than the newer stuff. The pipes inside my house are still good.

Also had our viewing at a friend's house. I was very young, but I think my parents didn't have a tv at the time. What early childhood memories. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yes. Nice pressure. In fact the plumber I hired to replace the main line into the house had to put a pressure regulator in line. (House was built in 1961 and the main line was harboring all kinds of crap that was decreasing the water flow to the house). No hill or mountain. I had to laugh when you said "Santa Barbara". Went back to check my profile, where I'd never entered my lat/long. Funny that the map defaulted to there when my profile said "Perris". Muscle cars are another favorite of mine as well. No racing, but building and rebuilding, plus hearing them purr is a turn-on! Hmmmmm....... Back to our regular programing . . . ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Test timer: Check. Neighbors: Check Soaker hose: Buried: Check Rubber Mulch: Already have! :^) But only the first 10 feet from my house towards the garden. Too expensive for the rest of the garden. Besides, the clay soil here requires that regular mulch and such be tilled into the soil, deeply! I have to use a pick-axe to break up the clay otherwise! Ceramic pellets. Hadn't heard of those. However, the flowers are already there, with the regular mulch. Some plants are new, but others are well established (read: 2=3 year old perennials). Snakes? Have never seen one in my neighborhood in the 20 years I've lived here. Skunks, however . . . ! Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Pressure from the valve is 80 PSI last I checked. Only a 2-way splitter. One for the hose (other uses) and one for the drip system. Interesting note on the number of emitters. I may have to rethink this one. Soaker hose. Interesting. I may have to incorporate that one. I have one area that has alot of flower plants clumped close together. Yes, using a timer. That's one of the main reasons for using this system. When I'm gone for "Jump for the Cause" I want to know my plants are surviving the 100+ degree September heat! :^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Interesting read. Learned a few new things. 1) Air Flow Vent 2) K-Y Jelly! 3) 200 feet of tubing (I'm within that with the 150) I'm currently installing from an existing valve on the side of my house. If I like the system enough to permanently install it I'll invest the time to connect it to my sprinkler system timer and install a new valve there. Anything else? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

The temperature gauge in my car, for outside temperature, read 122 degrees at 1:30 yesterday afternoon! And it wasn't a dry heat. Not usual for this area at all! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Is this web page correct, then? You can use up to 500 feet of tubing and up to 250 GPH in emitters? http://www.grounds-mag.com/mag/grounds_maintenance_install_drip_irrigation/ ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
