This has been discussed at length by many people, at many different places. This thread is most interesting here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1995473;search_string=kittenger%20speed%20of%20sound;#1995473 Pay special attention to mjosparky, who spent time with Kittenger. (post #10 of that thread) From this search here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=search_results&search_forum=all&search_type=AND&search_string=kittenger+speed+of+sound ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

To add to my previous post, I also live in a town with no book store. We have a library that publishes in our local paper what -new- books they've purchased each week. They try and stay on top of what's popular for their most frequent patrons. Both fiction and non-fiction. They are also linked into the other surrounding libraries and will bring in what they might not have in stock. Free of charge. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I was going to post the same thing, but then thought . . . what's to keep a Lorado local from starting up their own store? Why rely on a corporate giant to bring what the city wants? There could be a grass roots campaign for the local book readers to start a book-swap club that could grow into a used book store . . . then possibly add new books to the menu. This would have more meaning than an outsider supporting them, don't you think? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Hey, my house has the exact same damage outside. Heard the sound and ran out to see what had collapsed. Man, what a sound! Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Winds high and squirrely tonight. Rain sideways. Weatherunderground says the wind is from the south, but it may snow tomorrow? How's that for weird. For it to snow, here, the wind is usually from the north. Mother Nature needs a prozac! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

[Evil P.T. Laugh!] Bwhahahahaha!!! Sounds like everyone's gonna be sore tomorrow! [/Evil P.T. Laugh] Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Rumor has it that the iPhone will be Verizon friendly later this year. Can you wait that long? http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/01/19/verizon-iphone-4g-will-january-27-release-more-details/ ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Well, you got me there. I wasn't skydiving at Perris back then. I was some place a bit dryer. I'd love to see the pics you have of that time period. I could post the one pic I have of a certain skydiver all muddy, head to toe, but I'd probably get banned for it. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

The time I remember in Perris was around 1998 or so. The flood at Elsinore that caused the DZ to move (twice) was in 1980. See a little history here: http://projectpi.skydiveworld.com/DZelsinr.htm ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Back in the day there was an El Nino that came aboard at Perris and flooded the entire packing and landing areas. Some took boats out and paddled around it was so deep. Then there was the Elsinore flood. The entire DZ had to move . . . Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

GAWD what a bunch of weather wussies Two things to think about, my friend. 1) Burn areas + Rain = Mudslides 2) Clay soil + Rain = Flooding Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Here we go. Started about a couple of hours ago down here. Currently just drizzling. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I'm hoping he's already doing this. Good advice! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

This sounds about right. I've suggested the renting thing to him, but he's dead set on buying. He's actually expanded this driving time to allow a broader search of available houses. He's finding it's not going to be easy to get what he wants. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

He just re-enlisted and I'm embarrassed to say I don't know. He has served 9 years so far. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

He starts this assignment sometime in May. He's hoping to get a house before the April cut-off for the $8,000 home buyer incentive. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Thanks! I'll pass this on. Looks like he's in for a bumpy ride. Too bad there isn't someone who just wants to house swap for a place in GA. ;^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Battened down here already and waiting for the punch. Wonder which weather guru will be the most accurate. I've read everything from dry to 8 inches, with snow expected as low as 3,000' perhaps. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

For those of you who live in and near San Diego, can you give some suggestions here? My nephew just received his orders of transfer to San Diego. His choice and he's very happy to finally make it back to the west coast. He's currently stationed in GA. He's now looking to buy a house for his family (4 kids and a wife) as soon as possible as when he is finally stationed there he might ship out on his attack sub quite quickly. He'll be aboard the USS Topeka. He'd like a 5 bedroom no further than about 15 minutes from the base. And no, his wife does -not- want base housing anymore. So, he's relying on finding something else to buy. He doesn't want to rent, as he may be out at sea for a long stint. Anyone have ideas or suggestions? He has a realtor looking already, but hasn't been pleased with what's been found so far. Remember, a Navy man's salary . . . Thanks! ltdiver PS: My nephew thinks us skydivers are cool! He's already done a tandem and flown in the tunnel. He loved it! Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Actually Oak Glen is apple territory, not grape. If you're looking at wineries you have to go a bit south and a lower elevation. Say, Temecula. Now -there's- a beautiful place to invest in. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Wonder if they can add to the arson charges here in Oak Glen if the mud slides destroy homes, etc. The arsonist is in custody, waiting for his day in court. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Sorry to hear that. I was wondering about the initial reports being so light after a shaking as hard as that was. We had our own little tremor here in SoCal today. Several of them, it seems, but I only felt the one about 3 hours ago. Only a 4.3 but shook pretty good here. The center was about 10 miles away. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Some people judge how time has passed by the age of their kids. Me, I do this by the age of my nieces and nephew. I get startled every time I add up -their- ages. (youngest is now 31) Reminds me how long in years I must be, then. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
