  1. Didn't click on any links but I'm guessing it's the Lutz video. Me either, but around here at Perris we call him 'Sparky'. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  2. Thanks for the info. It was fun to sit in Starbucks for a few minutes on Election Day. The barista kept wanting to fill my coffee cup, and the patrons conversation kept the mood electric. Just sitting there, sipping my coffee, had me viewing this as a true positive day of change. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. I know there are alot of you who could care less, or are perhaps actually happy. Yet, there may be a few that will find this list helpful in their daily drive: List of Starbuck Store Closures ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  4. That's pretty funny coming from a poster named "The Bachelor". Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. They're thinking not. Perhaps contaminated feed/vitamins? Remember when all the cats and dogs were dying due to the contaminated pet food last year? We'll see asap. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  6. My heart is just crushed in mourning for these beautiful souls lost today. I can't believe that such a host could be devastated in such a short period of time. Those of us who love these animals are waiting anxiously for the pending results, most likely not due until the end of the week. http://www.newsday.com/news/local/suffolk/ny-lipony2112675911apr20,0,1516622.story ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  7. I did have my prescription goggle on when I put the liners in for forming. Good thing, too, as -that- would have been an issue if I hadn't. I like the idea of the thin head mask on during the forming. Let me know if it works and I'll run out and get one myself. Reading some of the FTP comments from years past I see that they also have the 'crazy tight' thing going when they get a brand new helmet. I'm led to believe that it gets better the more the helmet is worn. Don't remember the time frame though. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. I see in your profile that you list Ireland as your place of residence. If this is indeed true you might want to consider weather as part of your deciding factor of learning. For example: If you have alot of cloudy days a static line student can still go up and learn. If you're an AFF student you're stuck on the ground. Different exit altitudes for each (at least in the beginning). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  9. May see you there at Paula and Rick's. This year it's #33 isn't it? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  11. I have a pair of Oakley Minutes. The manufacturer made the prescription lenses for me. Comes with a one year warranty. Gatorz also sells to alot of skydivers and they can recommend a place to have the lenses made, but don't make them themselves. Warranty is void if you do this, though. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  12. I doubt it. Unfortunately it didn't seem to make a difference after the California Metrolink vs freight train collision last year. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  14. AI just finished tonight on the west coast. Have to completely agree with everything you said. Too close to call, but it'll be either Megan or Michael who goes. My choice, Megan. America's choice most likely Michael. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  15. Love the movie. I actually have a couple of friends who are going to compete in the next Paralympic Games. One with Quad Rugby. The other with Cycling. Check out Aaron Baker's web sites. He'll be cycling in the next Paralympic Games. Aaron is one incredible man who, after being told he'd never walk again, found the way to continue his rehab on his own and made it back onto his feet again. He's now developed the technique he used and is starting a gym called "CORE" to help other individuals. http://www.aaronbakers.com/ http://www.riseabovetour.com/blog/ http://www.corecenters.info/ ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  17. Don't they have a British version of "Biggest Loser" over there? Their weight is nothing compared to what we have at our rehab hospital. We are one of the few places that accept bariatric patients for rehab. It's not uncommon for someone to be a 600 pound individual who just wants to get back on his feet and start living again. It's amazing how hard they try, and with that the success that they bring to themselves to be able to be independent at home once again. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. The mind boggles when you think of the possibilities....and not in a good way. I think he will tone things down a little....if Simon keeps saying your performance was rubbish sooner or later the viewing public is going to agree with him. He was lower in the dialidol rankings than I expected him to be based on the judges' praise for him so I don't think he can afford performances that alienate people for much longer. Interestingly enough it was about a 50% split at work today on whether Adam's performance was liked or not. I was very surprised that the oldest member of the group liked him the most. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  19. Finally catching up with you guys here on the west coast. I have to refrain from opening this thread until after the show has completed here. Alexis, Alexis. She just completely choked with her 'save me' performance. She knew it too. The more she tried to power through the more her performance continued to fail. And yes, I really liked her in previous performances. Wonder how Adam is going to twist up Motown next week. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. I agree that Adam slaughtered Johnny's song. I'm sure there are a few out there that really were inspired by it, but I'm not one of them. Adam went far and away the furthest from country a singer could go. Lil did the opposite. She gave up who she was by trying to 'be true to country artists and their music' (or something like that she said). What's a contestant to do? Be true to themselves no matter that the style of music chosen for the week, or try and mimic that style and abandon what makes them great? IMO both hit WAY off the mark. For the country music fans I think those who did the country music proud were: 1) Michael (oil rig guy) 2) Danny (however, get rid of your stylist!) 3) Anoop (too soft for me, though. The judge's praise was a bit too much). 4) Megan (what's with the arms, though...and the little hitchy wiggle? Give that up and I may come around if you sing like you did tonight). 5) Scott (okay, your style is your own, and you did fine on the vocal, but give a bit more variety for the viewers, k?) 6) Matt (okay, you did alright, but no pop and sizzle here.) 7) Kris (easy on the eyes, and great interpretation. Can we have a bit more jazz, though?) Allison was good, but not my favorite. Alexis...sorry girl, you're going home. :^( ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  22. That's two separate considerations. First, is the faster driver within the law due to their speed. Second, is a slower driver within the law if they fail to move over to allow faster traffic to pass. From the info provided in the above link, it would appear that in such a situation, neither driver would be operating within the law. First: No. (read the example). Second: That's the question I'm asking. Both are above the speed limit, but the 'slower driver' is going with the normal flow of traffic. I fail to see how a driver would be operating within the law if they fail to yield the left lane to faster traffic, going only by the information provided in the link posted above. If you want a definitive interpretation of California's vehicle code, you should contact an attorney in that state. Law or not, it's a demonstration of poor form as a driver to fail to yield to faster traffic in a fast/passing lane. Quote from the listed web site: "Most states follow the Uniform Vehicle Code and require drivers to keep right if they are going slower than the normal speed of traffic (regardless of the speed limit; see below). These are listed as "slower", with an asterisk and an explanation under "comments" if vehicles lawfully using the left lane must yield to overtaking traffic." There is no asterisk by CA, so my interpretation is that you may use the left lane if you're going the 'normal speed of traffic' and do not, by law, have to yield to those going faster than it. It may not be as nice, from that speeder's point of view, but the law does not require that you yield. "Normal Speed of Traffic" trumps the speeder's desire. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  23. Don't really even have to go that far. Just play the video on your computer, pause it at the scene you want a picture of, and do a computer screen capture. And yes, the quality isn't very good, but you'll have a snap shot of what you're wanting. Windows: http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/general/ht/winscreenshot.htm Mac: http://www.apple.com/pro/tips/secretcapture.html To the OP, if you post your in the 'Photography Forum' you'll get much more technical answers. Someone might even offer to do it for you. :^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
