Wow, that's beautiful! Looks a bit slippery, though. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Don't you know the song says, "It never rains in California . . ." ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

My friends did a kind of hunter green with black stipilings with a high gloss sealer which made the floor look like a marble. That sounds beautiful! Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

That picture is an old one, taken on December 17 of last year. Almost had a white Christmas! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I thought so, but the picture on this end was a little light. I had some friends do the concrete stain thing, but they rented a concrete buffer and did some kind of acid thingy to smooth it out, then power-washed it, then stained it, then sealed it... looked great. Yeah, a link on staining/painting mentioned the same thing: http://www.essortment.com/home/paintfloorporc_saeo.htm "A new concrete porch should be allowed to cure for 90 to 180 days before painting. It will also be necessary to acid etch a new concrete floor with a 10 percent solution of muriatic acid to allow the paint to adhere properly. After the acid treatment, paint on one coat of concrete primer. Allow the primer to dry at least eight hours. Paint on two coats of latex paint using either a roller or spray rig. Use a paint brush to get around the edges. Allow the paint to cure for a minimum of two days before walking on the floor." Since my concrete porch isn't new, and it was painted before, I believe I can skip the acid step. btw, what color did -you- use on your porch? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Picture should show the cement floor of the porch. Interesting you should comment about stains. Just found this web site that mentions stains for concrete floors. http://www.stretcher.com/stories/05/05sep05a.cfm I also like the idea of a cement sander instead of a chemical paint stripper to get up the remaining old paint. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Actually, I was considering a brick red color. Still can't visualize what would compliment the best, though. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

For those of you who are following the "How to get cats to stop pissing" thread here's my follow-up dilemma. What color should I repaint my porch? It used to be a light green. My house stucco color is a very light grey, and the trim blue. The tile table in this picture is new and I'd like to compliment it as well. I also have a front porch to paint, but that can wait. The front door to compliment is a mahogany brown. :^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Well Animal Control is now informed on what's going on in the neighborhood, by default. Another feral was caught, they were called to come and pick him up, and I was home and they questioned me. They saw many cats in the street and logically asked me what was up. Don't know what they will do with the information. I didn't make my neighbor out to be a 'bad guy', but remarked that when she put her own cats outside the feral cats just gravitated to her place. Which is some of the story, but not quite all of it. I'm only trapping the feral ones. Any that are 'domesticated' I'm leaving alone (well, they don't get in the trap anyway, as they're not searching and prowling like the feral ones are). And so goes the story.... PS I just saw the HUGE feral tom cat walking the top of my fence. I shake my head....he's so big he would not fit in the trap.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Well here we are a week later and the washing, followed by vinegar, -seems- to be working so far. I've gone and sprayed the solution around the border of both back and front porch a couple times during the week as well. The washing damaged some of the porch paint, but that's okay....I needed to repaint it eventually anyway. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Does -she- know you're interested? If not, it makes no sense that you're sitting here griping to us. If she does and still decides to pursue your friend then she's not the girl for you. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Wow, your story is more gross than mine! Sorry to hear you had to be the gate keeper for such a menagerie of felines. Got a bit of a shock here last night....I heard the cat trap spring shut, so I wandered outside with my flash light. One of the big black tom cats was caught and VERY ANGRY, spinning round and round! He went ballistic as my light hit him...and he was able to escape! WTF! The door was closed and he still wriggled out in a burst of insane energy! Didn't know that escapism was a possibility with these traps. Wonder if I'll get round 2 with that one... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

This is true. We also have skunks and possums in the area as well. Hmmmmmm........... Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

The 3 that should move on: --Danny Gokey --Ricky Braddy --Alexis Grace The rest were just so awful! Very surprised on how sub-par the majority of the first group of contestants were. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Thanks. Actually purchased Petsmart's "Pet Organics No Mark!" months ago. These cats ignore it. :^( And there are more than one who do this. They've gotten into a war to see who will win the territory. One 'marks', then another one comes and does the same. Have some in the back yard, but not close enough to the doors/porch to make a difference. And you're right....it smells! I had a thread, months ago, on getting the plant 'sap' on my hands and couldn't get the smell off! I'm finished with pets. I've had dogs/cats/turtles/birds/hamsters/etc throughout my life. It's time that I let that go and allow myself to travel, etc without having to worry. Besides, I have friends/family who are allergic and it's the first time they'll be able to visit without having to run away, sneezing and blowing their nose. It's nice to be able to invite them over now. But thanks. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Actually animal control will not take action to catch the cats themselves. However, if they are feral cats and -you- catch them they'll come over, free of charge, and take them away. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

--Some of the cats are prodigy of her first cats. --Some are dropped off by whomever when they see cats in the area they 'donate' their cats to the brood. When discovered she doesn't have the heart to take them to a kill shelter, and the no-kill shelters in town are all full. --Some are from her pupils (she's a teacher) who bring sob stories of their parents wanting to get rid of their cats (kill shelter or abandonment) and she takes them in (the cats, not the kids). --Some are feral cats that adopt the neighborhood while wandering through. They see other cats and food, and well....stay. She keeps them. --Some are tom cats from other former neighbors who have been left to fend for themselves and adopt her house (same reasons as above). --Etc. See the problem? She started with around 10 of her own and it's grown by either birth or adoption of some kind. They -used- the be kept indoors, so nobody knew the number she had...until she remodeled her house and kicked them outside. Now the whole neighborhood knows, not just the few directly adjacent to her. Oh, and she gives vaccinations on her own. You can do that from the local feed store. The spay/neuter is the added problem because her kittens that are born each year mature and start breeding before she realizes that enough time has gone by to let them reproduce. Then once pregnant, she doesn't have the heart to abort the fetuses. So, yes...there is a huge problem, but she's not able (or willing) to fix it. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Well, they're about 8 months old now...so it's past due. One suggestion from a skydiver friend was to take them down to the DZ to catch mice... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

The only one of our 3 cats - 2 female, 1 male - all neutered/spayed that sprayed was one of the females. The male periodically pisses where he shouldn't but he has never sprayed. Although I'm not lucky enough to have caught any of them doing the act of spraying/peeing I'm fairly certain it's one of the females that is doing it. However, there are 2 males (from the litter last summer) who I found are -not- fixed (yet). One of them is a friendly cat and allows me to pick him up. He is -not- fixed...and about the age that would start spraying. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

She'd be the first to agree with you. Actually the cats are all in good health. She keeps their vaccinations up and they're well fed. While all but 2 of the cats will run away from anyone else, they all see her come home and come out of the wood work to scamper to her side when she arrives. She knows there is a problem but won't give any of them up. Other than this she is a good neighbor. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Okay Lisa... I've spent the greater part of today scrubbing the outside of my house and dousing it with vinegar. Good thing the supermarket carries it by the gallon. The lawn furniture hasn't dried yet, so it's still inside the garage until it does. This better work. If it doesn't the next step will have to be more drastic. Oh, and my neighbor hasn't called me yet. And yes, she was home today. Not as many cats wandering around, though. Wonder if she took most of them inside with her. I only saw 4 of her 20 cats in the time I was outside (which was all afternoon). She used to keep them inside with her, years ago...Then she decided to remodel her house and kicked them all outside. That's when the problem started. If she keeps them inside with her, that'd be a ticket the neighborhood could live with. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

My thoughts exactly. Question for you pilots, are there specific conditions that ground prop planes (even turbo-prop ones) that jets can and will continue to fly in? If so, where can I view those specific stats? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
