Betty Bennett? So sorry to hear!! Heal fast and well, Betty! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

A person can be 'legally blind' and still not be totally blind. IIRC legally blind means that the vision cannot be corrected beyond 20/200 -with- corrective lenses. Still able to see, but it's quite fuzzy. I have a friend who's legally blind who still rides his bicycle to work and back every day. He knows the route and his hearing is very good. There are bike lanes and he knows to call his wife when he arrives. He's the provider for his family still, even with his eyesight getting worse every year. And oh yeah, he's a counselor for the welfare system. He sits behind his desk and educates those who whine how to get off their butts and make a living! He has patience to teach, opens doors, and gives them the opportunity to get their lives back on track.....then after a set amount of time kicks them in the rear to jump start them if they haven't done it already. If they don't show and effort he cancels them off welfare! :^) Harsh, but it works. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Sounds like you need to have all events at -your- house from now on. If she wants to participate she can make the effort to attend. If not, you and your parents (and kids) aren't emotionally bribed. Kind of like when your kids are throwing a tantrum and you get up and walk out of the room. They want (not need, just want) the attention. When they stop ranting and look up there's no audience! Your kids can keep in contact via phone, e-mail, whatever with their cousins. Then it's -her- kids who will lay the weight on their mom to come to visit -you- and yours. Not the other way around. Anyway, just my .02. I hate when manipulators continue their controlling and find that it works! Stop feeding her!!! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yes, and Friday too. Thanks for the reminder. Then there's the weekend!

You could hit the iFly Hollywood if you're looking for air-time really close. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Not sure I like the zipper as it could possibly be a snag hazard. I found these. Winter Receiver Gloves. I normally use regular Neumann receiver gloves with thin liners underneath. That, or medical latex gloves underneath. Both work great. Now that I found the winterized receivers I may invest in them as well. Interesting. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Very cool! I just ordered mine. Chris is doing the paint job himself. Should be nice!

Stick to the topic and stop trying to hijack the thread! Oh, and thanks for the compliments on the signature. Sometimes we all have to stop and think to ourselves....where are we headed and why aren't we living our lives to the fullest?

If you think back to when America was founded, those who came here did so to step up and do something for -themselves-. They did NOT come here to get a J.O.B.! The business model was that they'd apprenticed under a mentor, then go on to open up their own shop. So, quit complaining! Learn a trade and then hang out your own shingle to meet your needs... Perhaps if you're successful you'll be able to fulfill your wants in time as well. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I liken it to the war in Iraq. They knew how to start it but didn't think the exit strategy out very thoroughly...and what they've come up with is flawed. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Worst: Del Taco (Taco Bell is just a bit better than them) Better: Chipotle Best: Home Made! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Really!!! I heard that had arrested 5 people for looting, but they caught the perp who started all this? Grrrrrrr...... I could accept the wind sparking electrical wires against each other, but arson is just unforgivable! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

The Open Team definition is different than you are believing. Although the Open division is indeed 'open' to everyone who'd like to compete on that level, it is also the most difficult draw and more formations per dive. The Gold Medal Winner qualifies to attend the IPC World Meet for their country. Advanced have the same formations, but is normally comprised of those who are 'weekend warriors' and not vying for a spot on the World Competition stage. Intermediate has less of both difficulty and number of formations per round. I suggest you read section 5 of the USPA Competition Rules here: http://uspa.org/Portals/0/Downloads/Man_SCM1-5_2008.pdf Hope this helps. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

HELP-Looking for the name of a wheelchair athlete.
ltdiver replied to Mayberry's topic in The Bonfire
Replay of the Paralypic's Wheelchair Rugby gold medal match happening now on NBC's channel 4.4 (Universal Sports). Those athletes are brutal! USA vs Great Britain. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Out of curiosity, anyone know the dimensions of the FTP or vapor pro, as a comparison? Dave Vapor Pro is 11 x 8. http://www.skysystemsusa.com/helmets/vapor_wes_pro.php ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Incredible pictures: http://www.knx1070.com/pages/3325207.php?imageGalleryXRefId=826572 And many heroic stories from the emergency personnel, including 2 fire fighters and 2 policemen carrying out a non-ambulatory 300 pound woman from her burning mobile home! Amazing. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Cool! Can you do me a favor and measure the depth and width of the top plate? I want to compare it to my BatRak (my current camera helmet). ltdiver 5 1/4" x 8 1/4". Thanks. My BatRak's top plate is 4 1/2" x 8 1/4". Looks like it'll work just fine. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

What kind of batteries for "regular" Dytter?
ltdiver replied to efs4ever's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Original Dytter uses 4ea 399 type batteries, although there have been posts here that folks have used 355 type batteries. Correct. And Radio Shack carries them (only place I could find them here in town). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Yes, but which came first? The bone or the cup....? Notice the disclaimer Bonehead has on their website.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Very nice! When did you receive your Mantle? The reason I ask is that your helmet has the bone in the back, where as the pictures in the SquareOne catalog shows it with the closing solid chin-cup instead (like the Optic Illusion). I prefer the closing in the back (like yours). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Too early for snow, with our 90 degrees weather outside! They called it an early day at Perris as well, as the wind was whipping up in the 50's or so. Dust, ash, heat, fire....sounds like a bad movie. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
