    We did this exact thing to our secretary this morning. She gets there 30 minutes before the rest of us and started retrieving messages. One by one she discovered that each and every one of us had called in sick (some kind of food poisoning? ). She began -really- freaking out and called the supervisor (who was in on the joke), so she played along! The secretary next called the boss! (who we had neglected to tell the night before! ). Unwittingly we'd got BOTH of them! They both were shitting their pants! Well, to make it up to our wonderful secretary we brought her chocolates (her favorite!) when we all walked in...

    How long would you go in trying everything under the sun to cure your loved one....your spouse? Michael tried so many things, researched so many avenues, and according to Terri's doctors was -still- in denial when they told him that she was beyond resurrection. He stayed in denial, as many of us would, for that many years. He had to hear it over and over and over from her doctors that she was brain irretrievable. It -finally- sunk in. I don't understand what 'common law' has to do with this at all. They were lawfully married when this all happened. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

    Terri's family arrived this morning and Michael left the room so they could be with her. They were there for 1 hour and 45 minutes before the hospice staff asked that they leave so they could tend to her. Terri's family put up a VERY big fuss and refused, making quite a scene. Michael heard of this and asked that Terri not be subjected to this disturbance. It was then that the family was removed. Nobody knew the exact time Terri was going to die. It just happened that it did when the family was not there. If they hadn't been disruptive when the hospice nurses had to do their routine duty they just may have been there when she died. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

    How many years of wage garnishment will be needed to pay that $350k medical bill at that rate of income, assuming (BIG assumption) it is maintained after the head injury? Since close to 80% of all motorcycle accidents are the fault of the driver of a car, I'd suggest cage drivers increase your automobile insurance because you are going to be broke when my attorney gets done taking your house, everything you own and downgrading your income forever. Not saying that motorcycle riders aren't at a higher risk from cars. They are. However, what makes me mad is seeing yahoos weave in and out of cars on the road...especially on the freeway. Kind of like hook turning too low to the ground. You may get away with it over and over..yet one day it'll bite you big time.     Head injured? The lucky get back to a low stress, low mobile job (I've only known 2 of these in the 2 1/2 years I've worked at our rehabilitation hospital). One was a pilot, the other was an architect. Both were earning upwards of over 100k/year. Now, with their downgraded jobs, I don't know. The others, bless their souls, are completely dependent on family. And that number of victims have become too many to number. Again, that's only in 2 1/2 years there. It'd say 95% of the casualties are completely, and totally dependent, without any hope of gainful employment again. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
